Today was a perfectly normal day. Well as normal as normal was now. Each morning she worked out, made breakfast, and drove Morgan to school. She went to work. She picked Morgan up and the two spent the afternoon together.
Nothing ever changed. Pepper was cracking but she had to stay strong. For work. For her friends. But most importantly for Morgan.
It was not easy being a single mother. Especially one that worked. Morgan's usually cheerful demeanor had faded at the edges. Pepper knew how much she missed Tony. If she was being totally honest she missed Tony too.
Well, the old Tony. The one who would take her on spontaneous date nights. The one who was a goofball but still a caring and amazing husband and Father. But Pepper knew it would never be the same, and even though Morgan was young she knew too. Today had started out just like any other.
Once she'd dropped Morgan off she'd marched right into the office.
"I need you to send me the current rankings in the stock market." She crisply demanded one of her works quickly turning to another. "Mia, please go grab me a latte" She addressed her intern who quickly scurried away. Right as she was about to settle into her daily work a crisp knock sounded on her door. "Come in," Pepper responded her eyes not leaving the paperwork she held.
"Miss. Potts somebody's here to speak with you," Mia spoke timidly her voice squeaking after each word.
"Who?" Pepper questioned raising an eyebrow.
"Me." A voice sounded shocking her. Pepper's jaw dropped.
