Excited for a new job, she has been waiting for this moment for a long time and finally got settled to live an independent life in Delhi. She wasn't thinking about this job before but one thing makes her to go for it. Getting away from this mundane life, and living an independent life. She joined as a lecturer in the English department at Delhi University. She is doing her research on Indian theatre to complete her P.H.D. Professionalism gets prominent these days. So she planned to shift near the north campus of Hansraj College. Getting an apartment is a big mess in Delhi. As if you are going to fight world war 3 with a budget of just 12000 bucks.

Finally, she got an apartment in Morris Nagar for 10000 bucks, net saving 2000 bucks. It's not that big, what could you expect in 10000. It will be a new chapter in her life and definitely going to change everything around her. She is excited about her job but also misses her family living in Kanpur. "I can only expect a better neighborhood here'' confirmed herself.

After getting everything at the right place in her new house she feels tired. She went to the kitchen to have a tea that can make her fresh after all this shifting fatigue. "Oh no, I don't have sugar''. She is not in health to get sugar from the departmental store so she decided to have it from her neighbors. It was so uneasy to borrow something from a stranger but she has no other choice and her body needs to get its strength back. She knocked at the door two times but there was no answer she tried once again and finally, the voice came from inside ''coming''.

The first meeting......

He opened the gate and struck at her even after all the fatigue, her face brightens in a perfect shine. The sweat on her face makes it glow even more and hardened her fascinating features. His gaze stuck on her face and for a few seconds, his mouth denies to utter a single word. Soon he realized that she was standing on her gate for a while and being a gentleman he should ask her to get in. So after coming out of his subconscious state he invites her to get in. She was reluctant at first but her feet make her way to enter his place. It was so messed up. Things were out of order and there is a need to arrange them quickly to overcome the garbage more than a home. He abruptly put his clothes also including his undergarment from sofa to chair. He was conscious about his first impression of a girl he find amazing. He wore sweats that rode low on his hips and a gray cotton t-shirt marked with sweat. Beads of perspiration dotted his face, and he wiped them from the towel around his neck. He is well built and she too feels intriguing in his presence. There was a spark between them. After a silence and so much making comfort for each other, he finally speaks. "I am sorry if I am a little messy. You caught me on a wrong time.'' He smiled. "no that's perfectly alright, I am your new neighbor, myself Arpita, even I should be sorry to disturb you in an odd hour. "Hey, Arpita I think it is too much sorry for a first meeting. I am Ishaan, it's nice to have a beautiful neighbor. He smiled to tease her. "So that is the compliment, I think you are too fast to compliment a girl who is sitting in an awkward condition with a guy she met just now'' she teased back. He laughed "I must say my neighbor has beauty with brains'' he said this with a wink.

There is something that makes Arpita go with his flirtatious gaze, maybe this is his presence and an instant connection between the two. "So Arpita what's your business here, I mean what are you doing in here'' he asked her. I am a lecturer in Delhi University at Hansraj college, presently I m researching Indian theatre to complete my P.H.D'', she replied looking straight into his pupil that was fixed on her. ''And what about you, how long you have been here'' she asked shifting her gaze that locked into his eyes. I am doing a job in yes bank, a banker kind material. But you are not looking like a lecturer kind of a person, no offense'' he grinned. She laughed "I must say my neighbor is quite funny''. There is an uncomfortable silence between the two then. She runs her gaze around his apartment which is craving for sanitation measures. But she better think to resist her saying that. After a pause, Ishaan finally speaks, "so how can I help my neighbor''; ''call me Arpita'' she blushed and at the same time was confused with her emotions, as there is no need to blush. She lost in her ivory, she met many boys in her life but their presence never makes her feel like before. There is something that fascinates her, something she never felt with anyone; there is a sign of consciousness along with a playful smile. She controlled her thoughts that were jumping in her mind from one to another. Finally, she restored herself and stands, her sudden reaction make Ishaan conscious he stands hurriedly, "is everything okay, Arpita'' he asked worriedly. "I just want some sugar'' she hesitated. "I was just making coffee, you can join me, I mean you look tired and I think my coffee can work for you, I m not that bad'' he smiled.
