Chapter 37

I zoned out on what my English teacher was saying and remembered I saw Mel and Justin together yesterday. I pulled out my phone sending him a quick text even though he was in class I knew he'd reply.

Me: Hey :)

Champ: Morning pretty ;)

Me: I saw Mel getting into your car yesterday what's up?

Champ: I was giving her a ride home... Connor was busy

Me: kk...Just wanted to make sure she was okay

I placed my phone back in my bag and focused on what the teacher was saying.

Lunch came by fast and I hadn't spoken to any of the girls. I joined them at the table and they all frowned looking down.

"What's up guys?" I smiled brightly taking a seat

"Will dumped me," Vivi sighed

"He said let's take a break," Mel corrected

"What difference does it make?" Vivi huffed

"There's a possibility of the both of you getting back together," I replied hopefully

"He's a dick, I told you already," Ana rolled her eyes pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose

"Are you okay?" I asked her ignoring Ana's comment

"I mean yeah," she shrugged

"I'd have said I'm sorry but I didn't cause the break-up," Ana shrugged

"Ana!" we hissed in unison

"She's definitely PMSing," Vivi replied

Everyone at the table laughed and Ana shot Vivi a glare while she flicked her brown hair behind her smiling.

School was over in a jiffy and there was cheerleading practice and I also had my part-time job. I'd ran out of excuses but I had to make it work while we were practicing our routine I attempted to excuse myself twice but Coach wasn't budging and I had fifteen minutes until my shift started.

"Coach!" I jogged up to her during stretches and she glared at me "Can I-"

"Price," You've been making several excuses these days without coming back for practice, it seems like you're not fit for this position anymore, we have a game coming soon and you're slacking, you'll be sitting on the bench for the next few games and I'm replacing you, Morgan!" she called out to Coco who came jogging

"Morgan is now the head cheerleader, you've shown you're not capable of handling responsibilities,"

"But Coach I-" tears welled up in my eyes as she shut me down and walked away.

"Ri-" Coco started and I walked away packing up my bags and leaving for work

The tears came as soon as I got into my car and I sniffled before gathering up the courage to drive down to the coffee shop fully aware I was late for my shift.  

I had been working hard since I lost my spot as head cheerleader, I was focused on school and work. I met up with Lee twice a week to tutor him and he was mostly working on other days. Justin's game was coming up in two weeks and I was excited to wear his Jersey.

Today was Sunday and I went to get some extra shifts at work and got home to my mum cooking up something in the kitchen.

"Hey," she smiled

"Hi," I gave her a brief smile

"Oh, one of your friends came by he said his name was...uhh..." she looked up thinking her head tilted to a side "I actually don't remember his name,"

"Leon?"

"I think so, I'm not sure," she shrugged

"Where did this person go?"

"Into your room, he said he dropped something important,"

"You let someone whose name you don't remember into my room?" I sighed exasperatedly

"He said he was your friend," she shrugged

"Mum! I don't care!" I huffed shutting my eyes and pinching my nose "Why would you?! Without calling to ask me if it was okay!"

"I-"

I went up to my room screaming and pinching the bridge of my nose. I went into my room and everything was in order. I checked my wardrobe where I kept my stash. Everything was exactly how I left it.

I texted Lee and he said he never came over, I couldn't put a finger on who could have possibly come over, I asked on the group chat and all of their replies were negative.

My phone had been buzzing all morning with texts but I was grumpy and tired so I ignored them. I hadn't seen any of my friends all morning so I made my way to the cafeteria immediately after the bell for lunch rang.

No one was at our table and everyone was giving me weird looks, my phone rang and Vivi's name flashed across the screen.

"Come to the gym ASAP"

"Why-" the line went dead and I threw out the rest of my food making my way to the gym, the looks and whispers had gotten louder and my phone was buzzing like crazy. A huge crowd gathered at the gym and everyone's phone was buzzing in sync. I took out my phone and a picture came up on my screen.

"Shit!" a hand went over my mouth "Oh my God!"
