The
BASE DIET
-Category-
~~~—~~~—-+-+-+-+-+—+—~~~—~~~—~~~—~~~—~~~—~~~—~~~
Rabbits are herbivores, meaning they eat plants. They're built for a diet consisting of mainly large amounts of grass, leaves and other greens, grass hay is also good for them, but basic Timothy Hay should be the rough base of they're large diet, as hay should make up 80% of they're diet. Grass Hay, Timothy Hay, and Orchard Hay are also highly recommended, even a mix of the Timothy and Orchard hay is good for them, but all three hays are filled with healthy minerals, vitamins, and other healthy things. They can also eat flowers and fruits, but definitely not for in a daily food, good for treats, but not in the daily meal of an adorable bunny, <3
Never give them almost Any plastic except they're litter box,
(Sudden change in the text i don't know why)
they can't digest it and can cause serious damage to the bunny's digestive system. Another available hay is the legume hay, not recommended though as any kind of normal hay, maybe a tiny tiny bit as a treat but it has way to many calories, calcium, and protein then the average bunny needs, and can be unhealthy for them. Another important part of a bunnies diet is Greens.
Not including carrots in they're average diet is important, cause carrots actually aren't good for bunnies! The green top of fresh carrots are fine, but carrots really aren't healthy for them, it's too high in sugar, and they're sugar limit is as low as two tablespoons per every 5 pounds of body weight, making they're limit incredibly hard to follow, you should almost never give them sugary foods. A recommended treat is bananas, they love bananas, in moderation (tiny bits of banana per giving) bananas are a safe food for bunnies, and they will likely Love them! But you should always start slow with giving a bunny any new food.
The
Pellets
~Category~
(I am so tired of writing)
!This category is VERY small, but VERY important!The average baby bunny can have about 1/8 cup of pellets in they're food, adults can have about 1/2 tablespoons of pellets in they're food.
The healthiest pellets you can give is Timothy Pellets.
FOOD
+PELLETS+
Very few of these can be fine as an extra topping to your bunnies Daily-Diet,+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+HAY+
Hay should be a food you give an unlimited amount of to your bunny.
+..WOOD?..+
Not really a food, just something you should give them as toys in they're Rabitat (Rabbit Habitat) to chew on, as they're teeth (just like any other rodent) constantly grow. +TREATS:)+
Treats are good sometimes-given foods for them, makes them happy to get them!
Cage recommend
"NO CAGES" a lot of people say, but it's not true, you can
have a cage,
but if your bunny isn't free-roamed or at least have a enclosed pen, it must be a very big cage.
(Ferret Nation 2 story recommended)
If they are free roamed,
you can just have one smaller cage or hiding house for sleeping in and eating in,
i recommend having a hay feeder above your litter box,
and your litter box to have BUNNY litter,
NOT CAT LITTER in it with a mix of hay as a substitute of litter as well.
but you can't replace the BUNNY litter with hay it has to be a mix.
Have fun with your bunny!
And good luck!
