Chapter 14

"Ugh. You guys are gross."

Penelope laughed, looking up at Megan who was grinning as Penelope sat with Chris in the corner of the wrap party.

Chris shrugged, "isn't this what you wanted? For us to get along?"

Megan smiled, nodding, "it was. I think you guys are great for each other. What are the plans now that the movie is done filming?"

Penelope shrugged, "some time off? I'm going to visit Boston for Chris's birthday to meet his family. And then he's coming to meet mine. And I plan on bringing him as my date to my premiere this fall."

Megan grinned, "oh yeah? That's great. I guess you guys don't need me then until the press tour?"

Chris nodded, "yeah. We should be able to keep out of trouble."

Megan sighed, "try to hold onto that."

Penelope laughed as Megan walked away and she turned back to Chris. "You don't want to get into any trouble?"

He grinned, "oh, I do. Only with you though. Just don't tell Megan."

She laughed again, nodding, "I promise. I'm going to miss you. We've been living together the last few months and now I have to let you go."

Chris sighed, "I know." He brought his hand to her cheek, "I'm going to miss you too. My Penny Lane. My flower."

She blushed as he brought his hand up to her blonde hair, running his fingers through it. "It's only like two weeks. I'll come to Boston and be paraded in front of your family for them to judge."

Chris laughed, "they'll love you. And then I'll do the same for you."

She scoffed, "oh please. My brother is a huge Marvel fan and my mother already loves you."

He shrugged, giving her a smug smile, "everyone loves me."

Penelope laughed, "and no one more than you."

Chris heard his phone ding as people started to arrive at his house for his birthday. He grinned when he saw Penelope's name.

Penny Lane
I'm sorry
Something last minute came up and I can't make it today
I promise I'll make it up to you

But it's my birthday
Are you second guessing us?

Penny Lane
Of course not

Chris groaned, tossing his phone onto the counter.

"What's the matter?"

He looked up at his brother as he entered the kitchen. "Penny was supposed to come today for me to introduce her to everyone."

Scott shrugged, "maybe it's for the best. Up until the movie filming, you never got along anyways."

Chris sighed, "it was all a misunderstanding. I actually really like her Scott." He followed Scott into the backyard where most everyone else was as he sat next to his mom at a patio table.

"What's the matter son?"

"His girlfriend blew him off on his birthday."

Chris groaned as he hit Scott in the arm, "shut up!?" He watched Dodger perk his head up before running inside the house. He went inside to find Penelope knelt on the ground petting Dodger. He crossed his arms, "you lied."

Penelope grinned as she handed him a box, "no. I was kidding. Makes me being here all the better, does it not?"

Chris laughed, setting the box down as he pulled her body to his, "I missed you, my flower."

She nodded, "me too Chris. Now are you going to kiss me or not?"

He grinned, nodding as he pressed his lips to hers, feeling her hand in his hair. He moaned softly before pulling away. He twirled the end of her hair in his fingers, "you changed your hair."

She laughed, "this is my natural hair color. I'm constantly forced to color my hair blonde. But normally it's light copper."

"I love it. It brings out more green in your eyes." He grabbed the box, opening it to find a brand new razor set, making him laugh.

She shrugged, "I didn't know what to get you. I thought it was funny."

Chris smiled, "it is." He grabbed her hand after setting down the razor, "come on love."

She sighed, following him outside to his mother. She held her hand out, "I'm Penny. It's nice to meet you."

Lisa grinned, "I know who you are. It's nice to meet you too."

Penelope laughed as Lisa hugged her instead of shaking her hand. She sat down at the table between Chris and his mother as he introduced her to his sisters before introducing her to Scott. She held out her hand but Scott ignored it, making her put it down as she looked at Chris.

Chris squeezed her hand, looking at Scott, "what's your problem?"

He shrugged, "almost ten years of animosity and all of a sudden everything is fine and you guys are together."

Chris groaned, "I told you, it was a misunderstanding."

"Oh." Penelope sighed. "Chris asked me out a long time ago and I said no. He overheard me talking about a guy that asked me out but I was not talking about him." She looked up at Chris, "truth be told, I regretted it as soon as he walked away."

Chris smiled, closing the distance to kiss her. "How long do I have you for?"

She shrugged, "how long do you want me?"

He smirked, "now you can't go putting it on me, I'll never let you go."
