Warrior Cats: The Prophecy (Discontinued)

Chapter 7

It was midday and the midday patrol had just left camp. Falconkit and Silverkit were sitting with an elder outside the elder's den. The elder was Tailwhisker and from what Wolfkit could hear he was telling them of a time when a badger attacked the camp when he was just an apprentice. Ivypetal was with them, Wolfkit didn't wanna talk to anyone, she couldn't stop thinking about her dream. 'Why do I feel like Shadow was hiding something from me when I asked about Snow~whisker he got nervous so maybe something else happened and he doesn't wanna tell me' Wolfkit thought to herself.

An apprentice then walked over to Wolfkit and sat beside her. The apprentice looked at Wolfkit with a concerned look. "Are you okay Wolfkit?" The apprentice asked her, "hm oh, yeah, I'm fine Swiftpaw" Wolfkit mewed but Swiftpaw wasn't convinced. "Something is troubling you, come on you can tell me" Swiftpaw meowed, Wolfkit knew what he was going. "It's nothing really" Wolfkit mewed, Swiftpaw shook his head, "you don't have to lie to me you know, I'm here if you wanna talk" Wolfkit jumped to her paws. "I don't need you looking out for me Swiftpaw!" Wolfkit hissed. Falconkit, Silverkit, Ivypetal and Tailwhisker stared over at her but said nothing. "But Wolfkit I'm only trying to help yo..." Swiftpaw meowed but Wolfkit cut him off. "So your the same as everyone else, treating me as  tho I'm not wanted!" Wolfkit hissed again and without warning, she ran out of camp. "Wolfkit wait!" Swiftpaw called but nothing was said back. Ivypetal ran over to Swiftpaw in panic, "what happened Swiftpaw!" She demanded, Swiftpaw shrugged, "I don't know, I just wanted to help her but then she ran off," Swiftpaw told her. "Don't worry she always finds her way back" Falconki mewed, Swiftpaw nodded, Ivypetal stared at the entry then went back over to Tailwhisker and the kits. "I hope your okay Wolfkit..." Swiftpaw meowed quietly to himself.

Wolfkit ran to Foxrocks, the border between NightClan and DuskClan. She sat down on one of the rocks, "why does everyone keep treating me like a rouge...?" Wolfkit mewed. "Maybe you should treat them as your enemy," a voice told her. Wolfkit jumped to her paws and stared around the rocks, no one was seen. "Who are you!?" Wolfkit hissed. Then a fox kit came out from a den, Wolfkit jumped back and unsheathed her claws, fur bristling. "Woah, Woah, calm down, I mean no harm" the fox yipped. "Why are you on DuskClan territory?" Wolfkit demanded, the fox shrunk under her hatred filled gaze. "My mum abandoned me so I came here for some shelter, please, please don't hurt me, I mean no harm".

Wolfkit could see that the fox kit was scared so she calmed herself down and retracted her claws. The fox kit got up and stood up straight. "So why did your mother abandon you?" Wolfkit asked, the fox kit looked sad, "my mum hated me, she wanted me dead so I ran away so I couldn't be killed... Wait you can understand me?!" The fox kit was shocked and so was Wolfkit. She didn't know that she could understand foxes. "I guess I can" Wolfkit mewed.

"What's your name?" Wolfkit asked, "oh my name is Roxy" she yipped. Wolfkit smiled, "I'm Wolf" Wolfkit mewed. She didn't wanna tell Roxy about her clan name or her clan but she kinda did already so awe well. Wolfkit's ears then drooped and she sat down. Roxy saw this and sat beside her. Her orange pelt bristling hers. She wrapped her tail around Wolfki then yipped. "You okay Wolf?" Roxy asked, Wolfkit shook her head. "Roxy... do you wanna know why I'm out here?" she asked, Roxy was confused but nodded a bit after. Wolfkit took a deep breath then mewed, "I keep getting treated like a rouge kit..." Wolfkit told her. Roxy understood what Wolfkit meant. "Hey Wolf can you help me make a den so I can hide just in case a patrol of cats comes by," Roxy asked, Wolfkit nodded, "of course". Wolfkit and Roxy spent 30 minutes building a den for her so Roxy could sleep. It was also hidden so DuskClan patrols won't find it. Wolfkit looked up at the sky and saw how much time had passed. Roxy was getting settled in her little den. "I better go, I'll come see you whenever I get the chance," Wolfkit told her, Roxy nodded, "see ya Wolf" Roxy yipped. Wolfkit waved her friend goodbye with her tail then ran off back to camp. 'I'll have to tell Leafpaw about Roxy because if I don't she'll find out anyway hehe' she told herself in her mind.

She had just reached camp, she entered the clearing through the gorse tunnel but someone was waiting for her. "Hello Wolfkit, welcome back" A cat mewed. Wolfkit was shocked the cat that was waiting for her was Shadowfrost. 'Someone told her' Wolfkit growled in her mind. "Go to the nursery, Ivypetal is worried about you" Shadowfrost meowed, "can you tell her that I'm back, I need to speak with Leafpaw" Wolfkit replied. Shadowfrost nodded and padded to the nursery, she glanced back at Wolfkit and gave her a hateful look. Wolfkit ignored it and padded to the medicine den.

When she reached the medicine den, she poked her head inside the den and saw a light grey tabby sitting on a bed with his paw up. Wolfkit padded into the den and saw Leafpaw padding over to the tom. "Hold still Frostflight," Leafpaw told him. She clenched her teeth around a brown thorn that was stuck in his paw. She pulled the thorn out, she then spat the thorn and looked at his paw. Scarlet blood started dripping from his pad, "now lick your pad until the blood stops" Leafpaw told him. Wolfkit saw Frostflight licking his pad, she looked down and saw the thorn had landed in front of her. She picked up the thorn and walked over to Leafpaw. Leafpaw saw the thorn and nodded to Wolfkit. "Put it over there" Leafpaw mewed, pointing with her nose at a pile of thorns at the back of the den.

Wolfkit was confused, why did they collect thorns? Wolfkit walked over to the pile of thorns and dropped the thorn she had on the pile. She turned and saw Brightflight walk into the den with some white berries. Wolfkit couldn't tell Leafpaw about Roxy when others were around so she had to get Leafpaw to leave the den with her. Brightflight saw Frostflight licking his pad, she turned her gaze on Leafpaw and nodded. Brightflights gaze turned to Wolfkit, she gave the berries to Leafpaw then mewed. 

"What are you doing here Wolfkit? Are you sick?" Brightflight asked, Wolfkit shook her head, "I need to speak with Leafpaw" Wolfkit replied. Leafpaw looked at her mentor, "okay but don't be long" brightflight told them. Wolfkit beckoned Leafpaw to follow but within seconds Leafpaw followed anyway. Wolfkit led Leafpaw to the shade beside the entrance to the camp. They sat down and Wolfkit's heart started beating faster. 'How do I tell her about Roxy... She'll freak...' she thought to herself in her mind. "Wolfkit why did you bring me here?" Leafpaw asked, Wolfkit was nervous but she pulled up her courage then spoke. 

"There's a fox on our territory"
