Summary: Jade is having a normal interview alone when the interviewer asks her some very rude questions that make her extremely uncomfortable. Y/N, her boyfriend, just so happens to be there to stand up for her and help her through the panic attack that is about to ensue. (⚠️Contains a panic attack and mentions of a previous abusive relationship ⚠️)

Jade's POV: It's been a very stressful day for me because of so many reasons, I've just kept my head down and got on but for some bloody reason, I have to do a solo interview today with this random American magazine company and thankfully, I do have some support in terms of the fact that my boyfriend is with me.
"Hi, Miss Thirlwall! How are you today?" The interviewer asks with his very heavy American accent and with an enthusiastic handshake, the interview commences, everything is normal with just questions about our music and future plans but then suddenly the subject changes to something a lot more personal and a little intrusive, my personal life and even my abusive and manilaptive ex-boyfriend Jed Elliot...
"So, can you give me a logical reason why you are not married and have children?" The interview begins to get really strange, attracting the attention of Y/N, whos head just pops up out of nowhere.
"I'd really rather not answer that question if you don't mind..." I respond, biting my tounge in nervous way, not trying to offend this guy as it could harm our reputation with people from the United States of America "That's something that I'm not really interested at the moment, me and my current boyfriend are perfectly happy right now."
"Okay then, you also said in a previous interview that your ex-boyfriend Jed Elliot abused and manipulated you a lot which harmed your self-esteem, why don't we chat about that?" He insists and I can just feel the lump in my throat getting larger and larger. Y/N looks at the interviewer with an absolutely disgusted expression on his face.
"Dude, could you not mention that bastard in front of my girlfriend? Neither of us want to speak or hear about anything that happens to that fucking bastard again." My boyfriend stands up for me but the interviewer just rolls his eyes and continues to bombard me with questions about Jed which makes me become quite emotional very quickly and I just sense a panic attack approaching very slowly.
"Stop the interview!" Y/N demands, getting up from his seat and storms over to the interviewer. "Can't you damn well understand that Jade isn't comfortable talking about any of this?!"

Y/N's POV: I turn to Jade and see in the midst of a panic attack, my eyes immediately soften at the sight.
"Darling, I'm right here, I need you to copy my breathing." I tell her whilst getting down on one knee in front of her and demonstrating with a deep breath.
"I can't breathe, Y/N..." She croaks out, gripping hold of my hand.
"Yes, you can. I know that you can." I respond, demonstrating once again. "In through the nose and out of the mouth, you've got this." After a while, her breathing regulates and she smiles at me, weakly before hugging me in a tight embrace.

"Are you ready to continue this interview, Miss Thirlwall?" The interviewer butts in, giving the two of us a smile that just tells us that the last 5 minutes haven't just occcured, almost like he doesn't give a shit. I look this pathetic man up and down, still holding my girlfriend in the hug.
"I don't want to..." My girlfriend whispers, muffled by my shirt.
"She doesn't want to continue and I am pissed the fuck off with the way that you handled that interview." I tell him, leaving him speechless as we leave.

The next morning, I'm tagged in a video, it's the interview. The fuckers didn't stop filming no matter what, even during Jade's serious panic attack and what's worse is that I can just about see that the interviewer is stiffling a laugh while the attack ensued

A lot of my and Jade's fans are so that grateful that I'm so protective of my girlfriend but on the other hand, I'm getting a lot of critism from the older American generation who think I ruined the interview, which is honestly just baffling.
