We'd finished the three shows in Canada, had a show in Minnesota, and now we're in Kansas City. Lacey left after our last show in Canada and I miss her so much. Harry had been staying in his bus recently too, so it was just me and Pancake. The boys missed having Harry on the bus so they stole him back. I didn't mind though, he's technically supposed to be on their bus anyway.

Once we arrived in Kansas City, I was dragged out of my bus to go out to lunch with Niall and Louis. Harry tried to protest, but he was sent in to record so he didn't have a choice. I needed to get back into the studio myself. I've had a lot of down time on the bus and I've written a lot.

We decided to get fast food and bring everybody else some. We ended up getting Wendy's and we each walked out with a handful of to-go bags.

I'd spent the rest of the afternoon in the hotel with the boys, helping Julian and his crew with getting recording done. They all kind of came and went as they pleased. Harry stuck around as long as I was in the room.

During soundcheck, I sat in the floor section while the boys performed and I went back and forth between replying to fans on twitter and watching them get all prepared for the show. Doors opened in half an hour, so they were a bit behind schedule today.

"Alright, everybody backstage! VIP gets let in in five!"

I go backstage and Harry meets up with me. We grab a few little snacks, but not too much so we don't get sick on stage. He's been there... not fun.

"Have I ever told you that I went to two of your shows before I met you guys?" I ask him as I swing my feet over his legs in the dressing room. He rests his hands on my ankles and looks over at me with wonder.

"Seriously? So I could've met you sooner?"

"Yup. I almost did meet and greet too, but I gave those tickets to Lacey's cousin."

"Why on earth would you do that? You could've been dating me years ago!" He jokes.

"I didn't need them as much as she did."

"What do you mean, babe?"

"At the time, she was fighting cancer. She's been cancer free for almost a year now, but at the time she was doing pretty bad and her wish was to meet you guys. The people at Make A Wish weren't able to get backstage because she requested them too late, so I gave her mine. So you met Lacey, just not me. But her cousin is doing much, much better now."

He looks at me with his bright green eyes and smiles. "You're an angel, Ave. You really are."

"No I'm not. Don't say that."

"Did you even think for a second before you gave those tickets to her?" I shake my head and he scoots closer to me. "Then you're at least her angel."

I had run through my set already and it was the break between me and the boys. The crowd was growing louder as more and more people filed back in from going out to the merchandise tables and food court and such.

I stood at the snack table, my hair now tossed in a bun and Harry's large grey zip up hoodie was now covering my performance outfit. I wore a red romper on stage and I wasn't uncomfortable so I just left it on instead of changing like I usually do. I did however, take off my heels and put on sandals.

My phone dinged with a notification from Twitter. I had the boys' tweets sent to my phone since I can never see them with how much is in my timeline. It was a tweet from Harry and he'd tagged me in it.

He'd taken a picture of me from the back while I was talking to Lou and Lottie and shared it on Instagram. He'd shared it on Twitter like he usually does.
