Step by Step (Soul x Maka)

Maka's P.O.V

"Ok! Now all I have to do is bring Soul his breakfast and then we can head for sch-"
I stop in my tracks to see Blair all snuggled up against Soul in his bedroom. All I can feel now is rage and annoyance. "Soul....." I say irritated and shoot a death glare at him. "He freezes and sweatdrops. "Oh no..." I hear him say. "Maka..........CHOP!!!!!" I scream as I hit him with the biggest book I can find. Wow, I think I actually got blood on it. Serves him right. I hear Soul groan. I look at Blair and see she has turned into her cat form looking innocent as possible. "What the hell Maka?! Why did you hit me?!" yelled Soul. To be honest, I always liked Soul because he would come at the right moment to protect me. And that made me very grateful. So, I'll admit it: I'm jealous of a cat. "Tch. Instead of trying to get into Blair's pants, why don't you get ready for school and eat your breakfast before we are late to class!!" I yell. I go into my room and put on my usual outfit. Stupid Blair. Always making me feel insecure. I thought as I looked at myself in the mirror. No. This isn't the time to be worrying about stuff like this. I need to focus on my goal of making Soul a Death Scythe and becoming an incredible meister just like my mom! I then give myself a reassuring smile and walk out of my room.

Soul's P.O.V
Jeez. What's that woman's problem?! Hitting a guy like that is not cool. Although she is adorable when she's mad. Wait...what? As I get ready for school I see Maka looking pissed. "Maka, I'm sorry that I was wasting time with Blair." I said tying to apologize. Her frown softened to a cute smile. "Okay. Now let's go before we're late!" she says already out the door.

No One's P.O.V.

The students listen while Professor Stein gives his daily lecture and mostly everyone was paying attention. Except for a few students of course such as Black Star who was daydreaming of surpassing God , Party doodling giraffes on her paper, Kid trying to get his desk space as symmetrical as possible and surprisingly Maka wasn't even paying attention. At least just bits and pieces. Maka was still worrying about what happened between Blair and Soul.

Maka's POV

ARGHH!!!!! Why am I so focused on that idiot and that stupid cat?! I screamed in my head. I need to focus on this lesson or I am- "Maka?" EEP! Professor Stein noticed oh no!

"Yes Professor Stein?"

"Are you alright? You seem to be distracted by something."

"Hehehe, no I am fine. I promise."

Professor Stein returns to the lesson.

Okay. I need to focus. I try to forget what happened....I fail but I at least managed to listen to what Prof. Stein was talking about.

No one's POV

School finally ended and Maka has decided to confront Soul about her feelings.

"Soul. I need to talk to you...." says Maka.

Soul gazes up at his Meister.

Maka is completely flustered and nervous about what she's about to do but she takes a deep breath, closed her eyes and then speaks.

"I do not like that Blair is always so 'close' to in an intimate way. It just makes me afraid that you are going to be like my dad. Always after one thing. I guess what I am trying to say is that....I....I-I like you...." she finishes.

Soul's eyes widen. He looks away for a while but then goes up to Maka and hugs her. Maka is surprised but nonetheless hugs back.

"I know how you feel. I like you too. And I know how you feel towards men. But I promise you I am not like them....mostly."

Maka gives him an annoyed look but calms down.

"We have been friends for a while and I don't think I want to get rid of that just yet. However, I do feel the same way. Let's just take that step by step, yeah?"

Maka smiles and squeezes Soul once more.

" I'll tell when the time is right." He says.

Soul then kisses Maka. She is surprised but kisses back. They part and then he kisses her on the cheek.

Maka internally smiles knowing that she will cherish their friendship until they take their relationship to the next level.

Yeah. Step by Step.
