Tom was alone in the void, relaxed in his soft, velvety armchair. Everything was fine, no one to interrupt him, no one to bother him. He sipped down his Smirnoff, which was as cold as his soul. His wings fluttered in delight at the great taste. The wind howled outside. The wind howling outside his void told him someone was entering.

"Hey, Tom!" Matt, the other angel chimed. They looked at each other with many eyes.

"I thought I told you to send me a telegram before entering my void," Tom grumbles, uptight and grumpy.

"But—but Tom! I have a good reason! Do you know those frosted cookies at the store? How it's so hard to get your hands on them? I finally found them! As Matt placed the cookies in Tom's lap, Tom thought to himself, "What's the big deal? He brought me cookies, but that's still not a good reason to invade someone's privacy.".
"Thanks, I guess?" Tom said, opening the small container of meat-frosting cookies and taking a large chunk out of it with his long, sharp teeth. Those cookies were the best thing he's tasted in a long time; they were so beautifully crafted.

"Well, do you like them?" The larger angle says softly. Tom looks up at him with a monotone face, acting like he doesn't care.

"They're fine." "Are you sure? They cost ALL of my money!"

"Yeah. They're just...okay." Matt scoffs and rolls his many eyes, pilling two cookies into his mouth at once. Tom was stupid, he didn't know anything about cookies, his opinion is invalid, thought Matt.

"So what are your plans for today, are you busy?" Matt chimes in again after a while.

"Nothing really. I was just going to drink and watch television."

"You've got to do something more interesting than that...how about we go to the store and buy a bunch of snacks, then watch a movie together!" Matt offers.

"But you don't have any money."

      "Uh... oh righ-"

"It's okay, I'll pay for it." Tom hands him the cookie box and gets up, stretching.

"Really? Thank you thank you!" Matt hugs Tom in pure excitement. This was going to be the most awesome sleepover ever.

Tom and Matt arrive home from the store, three bags full of various fizzy drinks and unhealthy snacks. They sit together on the couch and unpack their snacks, sitting the drinks on Tom's side table. Matt wraps one of his wings around Tom's shoulder, a friendly gesture. Matt turns on the television and puts on a scary movie.

About halfway into the film, Tom jumps in his seat, terrified from a cheap jump scare. Concerned for his friend, Matt wraps all of his limbs around the smaller angle, pampering him and cuddling him. Matt noticed the faint scent of strawberry popsicles off of Tom; the same flavor of alcohol he drank.

"Shhh, Tom, everything is fine." He traced Tom's jawline with his finger, trying to distract him from the fear he felt.

"I know." Tom's breathing slowed as he calmed down in Matt's grasp. There was something so soothing about this...creature. Usually, he'd see him as annoying or obnoxious, but right now he wanted nothing more than to be held by this man.

"They aren't real, I promise." Matt kisses Tom on the forehead, which sends him for a loop. Why would he do that? Are we more than friends? Tom's thoughts raced impatiently.

"Matt, why did you kiss me?" Tom demanded.

"Because I love you, and I want you to know that."

      "Forever? No matter what?

     "Indubitably."
