Lost in Space (Will Robinson x Female reader!)

Prologue: The First Contact

*12 hours earlier on the Resolute*

Everything was fine until the announcement came.

"All Resolute Colonists, please proceed to your assigned Jupiter pods. Thank you for remaining calm."

"What is this?" I mumbled. "Evacuation?"

The announcement was so loud that I started making my way through. People were screaming and I saw them pushing through others to get to their pods. "Just a temporary evacuation." I heard a woman say. "I'm sure they'll have the damage repaired soon." I looked over to see a family of three heading inside their pod.

I sighed once the door closed. I've been so busy skipping class to explore the Resolute for escape routes that I've kept my wrist communications off today. That was a mistake. I turned it back on. 

More alarms overlapped, and I walked over to one of those huge windows to see what was going on. "Whoa..." I whispered. Debris followed a Jupiter that took off and lights were flickering off in the distance. "I hope they can sort this out quickly..."

I heard laser beams go off behind me and I ducked quickly. I placed my hands over my head and yelped. "Get down!" A voice said. "It's coming, it's killing everybody!"

I saw a man who slumped against the wall, but he was already being aided by someone else. "(Y/n)?" Mom was calling out to me on my communication watch. "(Y/n), where are you, sweetheart? We need to evacuate!"

"Mom!" I exclaimed.

"Do you hear me? You need to come back right now or we'll all be-!" The sound crackled some more and I hit my wristwatch a couple times to get the signal back. Maybe whatever was happening down the hallway was disrupting the signal.

I looked down the hallway and saw a huge robot with four arms etching out of its body. It had an orange and deadly color on its face, destined to kill. A few more colonists hit the floor one by one in front of me and I could see my parents running further down the hallway.

"Mom, dad!" I yelled out and they screeched to a stop.

"(Y/n), get away from there-!" Dad called out to me, and the robot turned to them. In the next second, dad held mom's hand in his and pulled her behind him. They stood their ground and dropped right then and there. My eyes widened.

"All Resolute colonists please proceed to your assigned Jupiters."

The automated voice echoed through the hallways. I was already gone before the robot could turn to me. I found a vent next to me and I crawled through it to escape. I didn't know where it would take me, but at least it was far from there. Mom and dad would've wanted me to run away, even if I had to leave them. My face was wet with tears, but I wiped them off with my long sleeve.

Once I was through, I fell to the ground and someone tripped over me. "Ow!" A familiar voice said. I looked over to see Vijay Dhar.

"Vijay?" I asked, standing upright before I could get trampled. My eyes started watering again. I was so happy to see a familiar face from my training group.

"(Y/n)?" Vijay asked me. I ran over, colliding into him. His parents were watching us off to the side. "What's wrong, are you okay? Why aren't you with your parents? We're supposed to be evac-"

"My parents are dead." I gulped.

His eyes widened and so did his parents. "Come with us, (Y/n)." Vijay's dad said. Placing his hand on my shoulder. He led me down the hallway. "It's not safe for you to be alone."

I nodded, "I need to grab my suit and my stuff." I managed to say.

"Be quick about it and let's get going. We'll go ahead and start the pre-launch sequence."

Once we reached the pods, I used voice control to open the doorway to my Jupiter and ran inside to grab my backpack that was already filled with my stuff. Mom and dad must've packed it while I was supposed to be in class. I looked around the Jupiter and made my way back out, but before I could, an explosion happened and something hit our Jupiter. I gasped, and stumbled through the doorway.

I managed to close the doorway behind me from the outside and I could hear an explosion from the inside.

Jupiter 5 was gone.

Vijay was waiting for me by Jupiter 4 and we hurried inside. Our suits were on and we buckled up in the cockpit with his parents. The Jupiter detached from the Resolute and we followed the rest of the colonist group.

What happened after that? Well, let's just say we're lucky to be alive.
