FUCK THIS.
fist flying, you can feel saeran's teeth through his cheek. it lasts a split second, when your knuckles hit his face and graze his nose, knocking him down to the floor to be a heap of heaving limbs.
"i gotta admit, fuck!" he laughs, a bubbly sound as he coughs up blood and bile. the boy watches your frozen figure through his blonde bangs, green eyes gleaming. "i honestly did not think you had it in you," he hums. "you're a big girl now, aren't you?" he teases. hand instinctively reaching for his mouth, he pulls his fingers away and eyes the red liquid seeping down his chin and staining his uniform.
you stand above him, too scared to move or breathe or run. all you can do is watch silently as saeran slowly licks the blood of his bottom lip, and then you close your eyes when you just can't look any longer.
his demeanor shatters completely when a teacher rounds the corner, freezes at the scene in front of her. it is this moment where saeran chooses to burst into a hysterical fit of tears and lose his balance. you're vaguely aware of how the teacher rushes to his aid, calls for the nurse, and when she isn't looking, you see him smirk.
"count yourself extremely darn lucky, l/n." the principal looks down at you with eyes of disappointment. something sorry is clinging to his sunken skin, as he gestures to the blonde boy besides you. "o'donayuu chooses not to take any further action, and to respect his wishes we will not push the matter further."
"it's o'donaghue." the boy besides you says softly. the principal flushes, turns his attention to the cream blue vintage phone on his desk, ringing up the respective guardians involved to let them know of the incident. the line dials for a good five minutes before it is finally picked up. whoever is on the other side, saeran's uncle, apparently, sounds pissed.
with the principal distracted, saeran turns to you, you can't see him but you know because the leather he sits atop of crackles harshly, legs swinging into your line of sight which is focused on the stringy, red carpet beneath your bloody mary janes.
his nose is broken, face stuffed with white tissues seeping crimson. you can't help but inwardly smile at the sight of it, serves you right, fuckhead. you dig your nails into your palms to calm down. the last thing you need right now is to start laughing at his crooked face.
you're already lucky saeran is being so lenient with charges, even though you know it is not out of the (so called) kindness of his heart, but some hidden agenda.
it's almost like he wanted this to happen. you think, barely listening to the quiet conversation the principal is having with saeran's uncle over the phone, taunting me after school, with no one else around, though? if he wanted to be the victim, wouldn't he want an audience...?
"y/n."
you look up, tuck your doubts away, and muster the sweetest voice you can for someone who you absolutely despise with every inch of your body, but despite all of this effort it comes out strained. "what do you want?"
he says nothing, but you notice his eyes trail to the door as he folds up his red tissues. what the hell does he want me to do? leave the room? you turn to the clock on the wall opposite you, see the time. shit, i wanted to see kuroo before i went home.
a quick glance at the principal tells you he seems occupied with this phone call. you stand up and brush off your skirt, "sir, may i leave now?" he only looks up at you for a moment before waving you away dismissively, the volume on the other end of the call increases, and the man goes red. you take this as your cue to leave.
