Veronica: Lucy

"This is going to be so much fun, we're going to CANBERRA." The laughter and excitement filled the plane. The capital of Australia passed by like a shooting star. The memory warmed my heart as I dreamed of me and my friends.

Bang, the sound of a gun shot brought me to reality. Looking around for the dangerous sound, stone walls, bar doors and rats came into focus. The floor was empty except for Alicia, Maia, Matina, Miah, Lara, Minh, Aleisha, and Emerson's dead body spread across the floor.

"What happened?" I asked still trying to fully wake up.

"Well let's see, that person who's only fashion style is a hood, yeah she locked us up in this room!" Explained Maia as she looked disturbingly at the rats.

"Emerson, we couldn't save her, no beating heart, no evidence of breathing." Announced Brooke, leaning over Emerson's dead body trying to stop the blood leaking trough her fair skin and staining her ripped uniform.

The room was silent, silent just enough to hopefully hear the beating of Emerson's heart. But the silence and hope stopped there replacing it with fear and panic as a key turned in the padlock. The door opened while three enormous men with mean, disturbing faces walked in, followed by a young, thin woman with revenge and hatred hovering in her eyes. Her blonde, straight hair fell loosely below her ears. Buttoned up to the brim, her red and black dress pressed tightly against her peanut shaped body. The four of them were not at all like the monsters or the bad guys in fairy tales of the printed pages of a book but something else about them sent a shiver down my back.

"What do you want with us?" screamed Alicia, tears already streaming down her cheeks, "Why are we here?"

"You are here to help us build an army." replied the elegant lady holding her work books close to her chest as if that made her look more professional.

"Who are you" I screamed standing up to look her in the eyes.

"My name is Veronica."

"What! Your Veronica?" gasped Aleisha backing up against the wall while mumbling something under her breath.

"Yes, yes I am, now if you excuse me I have some work to do." She glanced at the men and headed off down the stone passageway.

At that moment the men lunged for Minh, Brooke and Matina and knock them in the head. I jumped up and kicked the guy on the leg. I tried to pull Minh out of his reach. But he kicked me in the butt and charged down the passage way after the lady.

"Well, their obviously going to be back, so let's get out of here, see what their up too and save our friends." Cried Lara as she carelessly flicked her thin, brunette hair out of her eyes while she paced the dungeon deep in thought.

"Yeah, but how possibly are we going to escape and we can't leave Emerson here alone?" Maia protested as she dreamed this was just a bad nightmare that she could just wake up from.

Suggestions echoed through the dark dungeon but I had noticed a light peeking in on us through a hole in the back wall. I crawled over to it.

"Guys come look at this I think I've found a tunnel?"
