The Forest Not To Enter

Chapter 1: The Dream and The Book

Hi my name is James Warrior and I am 17 the Human race got wiped out a couple of years ago same with the Fairy race and I was the only survivor but no Fairies survived sadly and no one knows how I survived not even me. I was raised by a Werewolf and now I work with her at her bar I have short jet black hair and ocean blue eyes and I'm average height. Since the human and Fairy race died everyone has continued living on even the people that where living and had families with humans and Fairies have moved on because we all know that they're never coming back. We still have electricity but no cars or aeroplanes anything like that we went back to horses and carriages stuff like that and we don't have big cement buildings or cities and no cement road they're just dirt now, just think of a fairy tale and what they have for houses and villages stuff like that just a bit better we also don't have social net works so unlike people back in the old days we actually have to talk face to face although we still have phones so we can text and call people stuff like that but no many people use them anymore and with all that being said, this is my story.

Once there was this forest and no one went in there not until that day that one fatal day, the day when everything changed.

Crunch, crunch, crunch the sticks under my feet break as I walk into the entrance of the forest.......... I wake up. "Ugh that dream again" I said as I rubbed my eyes to wake myself up more so I can get up and take a shower. After I get dressed I walk down stairs to get breakfast and I check the time "okay well I have a few minutes before I go to work" I say to myself as I walk over to the bread and I put it into the toaster, as I wait I walk over to the fridge and get out some Amaranth spread out to put it on toast. I walk over to the toaster and put the jar on the table as I look out the window and say to myself "ahh yep it doesn't look like any of the kids are up in the town or anyone at the matter well why would they it's a Monday morning ugh I hate Mondays but than again who doesn't?" My toast pops up so I stop talking to myself.

As I go to sit down with my piece of toast I get a knock at the door I look at the door and I walk towards it and as I open it I get shoved out of the way as the boy enters my house he had tall pointy ears, bleach blond hair he was wearing a green shirt and long black denim jeans "um can I help you?" I ask the boy and the boy turns around and I see dark green eyes and realise it's my child hood friend Sam.
"Oh there you are I was wondering why I didn't see you sitting down in the kitchen eating like you always do when I walk in" Sam said while laughing a little as he held his hand out to help me up as I took his hand I said
"Yeah well I was about to but you interrupted me and I don't eat all the time thank you very much" I got up off the ground and started to walk to the kitchen "so what do you want anyways Sam?" I asked as I sat down to eat my toast again
"Well you know how you always have that dream about the forest?" Sam said as he sat down next to me at the table
"Yeah?" I said questioning him about it "What about it?"
"I think I know what forest it is thanks to your great drawing abilities and me being a genius" I stopped Sam from saying anything else
"And?" I said to cut him off
"And what?" He replied
"And what? What else Sam? What else do you have or should I say don't have?" I said as I looked at him smiling
"Oh I get what you mean now. Yeah I don't have a life either so I research stuff a lot but hey without me you would of never have found out where the forest is" Sam said as he looked at me with a grin
"WAIT! WHAT?! YOU FOUND THE FOREST YOU'VE BEEN IN IT??" I yelled as I shot up from my seat
"Well not really but I did find out where it was" Sam said as he pulled out a book that read A Million Forests and I looked at the book and asked
"Does that book have all the forests around here or something?"
Sam looked up at me and raised an eyebrow and said "No, it has every forest in the world and has where they are and what creatures live in there stuff like that. How many forests do you think are around there's like 4 maybe wow"
"Ohh" I said as I sat down feeling a bit stupid
"Well anyways less chit chat here it is" Sam said as he open the book to the page that had the forest I dreamed about
"THERE IT IS I FINALLY GET TO SEE IT" I said like an excited child would
"Yeah there it is but there is one slight problem with going to see the forest James" Sam said as his expression on his face went sad
"What is it?" I asked
Sam replied trying to explain "Well you see um how do I say this hmm well it will take you a while to travel there"
"H-how long?" I asked a little bit concerned
"At least a month maybe that is only walking tho if you travel by carriage and stuff like that you might get there faster" Sam said still with a sad expression on
"Well that's okay I can just use a traveling spell or potion it won't cost that much" I said smiling
"But that's the problem you can't I already tried and it doesn't work it seems there is barrier around the forest" Sam said looking at me
"Boo well than I can just us a spell to get to the nearest town or village" I said being smart ass
"THAT'S EXCELLENT THINKING JAMES I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT........ but how? how didn't I think of that?"Sam said as he started to ponder
"Maybe I'm just smarter now did you ever think about that?" I said as I grinned at Sam
Sam quickly replied "No you can't be because you're just a Human and I am an Elf and Elves are the smartest beings on Earth yet you still survived the extinction of the Human race and Elves do not know how not that anyone really cares anymore because you've been around for a while now but still we do wonder"
"Really? You're going to bring that up?" I said as I finished eating my toast
"Yes, yes I am and I will never stop but enough about this let's discuss the travel and the forest" Sam said as he moved closer to show me the book. I check my watch and see that I only have a short amount of time to get to my job
"I'm so sorry but I have to go maybe stop by when I come back or something like that but later okay or I'll be fired ugh I haven't even brushed my teeth yet" I said as I got up from my chair
Sam replied and said "You won't be fired because if you are late this would be the first time and your boss normally gives people like three chances so don't worry but if you insist I'll come back later and than we will talk oh and here" Sam handed me a potion and said "this will clean your teeth drink it"
"Okay thanks see you later Sam" I said as I rushed out the door while drinking the potion that Sam gave me.
