Sonic's POV (still)
After some regrouping, I take Violet to go destroy the reactor. Nightly obviously bugged me about wanting some quality time with her, but that isn't the case. She's Real annoying sometimes... I wish I could bug her back about Shadow, but she takes those with stride.
"So... what did you all do when fighting Infinite?" Violet breaks the silence, watching me.
"Eh. y'know, sibling bickerings"... about you... "the usual, plus Stitch mentioned that she's got sibs too" i chuckle, propping my hands behind my head "that explains a couple things, in my opinion" that makes her laugh a tiny bit, which makes me smile. Tails cuts off the conversation
"The Phantom Ruby signal is headed for the reactor. You have to hurry!" i blink, meeting Violet's gaze, and she nods, and we start running
"The reactor is in the innermost part of the fortress. But the defence system is too tough to break through by normal means" Normal? What's that, Amy?
"Good thing we're not normal. We'll find a way through!"
"Have Fun~" Nightly laughs, before she cuts out, almost like she did that on purpose. I roll my eyes, before shaking my head, having to swerve a tiny bit from hitting a wall. Ahhhhh... this is going to be fun. After a while, we're in, and i look around
"So this is where Eggman built Infinite..." Tails speaks, which prompts Amy to hum
"It's so sad. What a lonely place to be brought into the world" I agree. Me and Violet head further into the base, I'm mostly led by gut instinct, currently.
"The reactor is close. Hurry!" Tails exclaims alright, my gut was right! Woohoo!
"We're on it. Here goes!" We soon enter a big room with large versions of the Phantom ruby. Woah!
"Well I'll be. They made it! They actually made it!" I hear Knuckles admit. Yeah, and now we gotta destroy it.
"Yeah, and I could use a little breather right about now. I'll feel better once we blow this thing to pieces!" Violet nods.
"Same! Come on!" She activates her Wispon and starts destroying one of the rubies. And with each ruby we destroy, more security protocols are activated. Heh! With Eggman, he is usually easy with the security. Destroying the rubies takes us only a few seconds before the place starts to crumble.
"Let's get out of here!" I offer my hand to Violet, who takes it without hesitation. I feel my face warm up a bit. I shake my head and return my focus on getting us out of here. We start our run, hearing the explosions behind us. "Pretty thrilling, huh, Violet? It's time to head back. Everyone's waiting for us."
"Double Boost?"
"It's like you read my mind! DOUBLE BOOST!" We achieve high speed and are able to launch ourselves out of the reactor. Landing safely outside, Tails, other Sonic, kinda weird to say that, Nightly and Stitch all rush to greet us. I step forward with a huge grin on my face. "We did it! Eggman's army is officially butt-kicked! We won!" Me and Violet make a move to fist bump, but the ground starts shaking, knocking us off balance. "Oh, come on! Now what? Can't we ever just win and have that be the end of it?"
"Look!" Tails exclaims as he points behind us. We turn and see the biggest robot Eggman has ever built. What the heck!?
"Gotcha! The fortress reactor was just a decoy. A true winner always keeps his trump card hidden until the end." This is ONE TIME where I wished Nightly was willing to yell at him.
"Are... you. Kidding me." my sister groans.
"Sonic, what's going on? There aren't less enemies! There's MORE!" Vector cries out from over the radio.
"What?!" Tails yelps
"How could there be so many?!" Amy yelps as well
"Confirmed sightings indicate Shadow, Metal Sonic, Zavok, Chaos, Infinite... thousands of them!"
"Thousands of Shadows..." Nightly repeats, before she shakes away whatever joking comment she was about to make. Stitch glances at her and smacks her in the head. "I wasn't Serious. Come on. That was completely uncalled for" i almost shake my head, but i glare up at Eggman
"What have you done?!" that question makes him laugh... manically... obviously
"Gosh, your laugh is horrendous" i hear Nightly say
"Mwa-ha ha ha!!! I merely incorporated the Phantom Ruby into this Death Egg Robot"
"Such a Wonderfully creative name" NIGHTLY.
"We all know he's not creative with robot names" Violet says, making her laugh.
"But... that means the Phantom Ruby no longer has a vulnerable energy supply. It's an invulnerable ruby?" Tails asks, and i can tell his voice is shaking just a tad.
"A good deduction, Tails. This Death Egg Robot has... no, i have surpassed Infinite to become the complete and ultimate form. You will be crushed by this Death Egg Robot powered by the Phantom Ruby" i drop into a battle crouch, glaring up at Eggman "and in the end, everything will still be just as i planned!" he then bursts into maniacal laughter, casting a Phantom Ruby powered wave at us, making Stitch squeak in pain. I step forward, staring my usual challenge up at Eggman
"Your plan will end like all your plans do: with you sitting in a pile of busted robot parts wondering how you failed so badly. Let's get him." me, Classic, Violet, Stitch, and Nightly charge him.
