Nightly's POV
Sitting on one of the crates my boyfriend is leaning against, i'm just checking over my tails, making sure i didn't take any damage to them when fighting mr Egg Naga. i can see the others talking to each other, but my gaze lands on Violet, her gaze is focussed on the big screen at the end of the room. I notice Shadow's gaze flick up at me, and i meet it, smiling peacefully. I'm glad the battles are over. I flick my ears to footsteps, and i glance up, seeing Knuckles enter
"Finally" he begins, making me tilt my head curious "an end to this endless battle. Everyone can go back home and relax. There's no need for the Resistance" i frown at that statement. 'No need'? I open my mouth, but Silver speaks before i'm able, hopping down from another crate, one that was on the other side of the room as me and Shadow.
"Hold on, there's still a lot we need to do. We're just getting started"
"I agree with him" i speak up, Knuckles takes a second, before he nods, realising that we're right... which i mean, come on. Violet hesitates, before looking to Knuckles
"Hey... i'm... going to leave... i need to help mobians myself" i flick my ears in surprise
"What? You're leaving us?" Knuckles is also surprised. He takes a second, before letting out a breath "but OK, i'm not gonna stop you" i tilt my head to the side, curious on what's happening. My gaze is flicking from one mobian to the next, in more shock than confusion.
"Man, the first time i saw you stumbling around, i had no idea you could pull this thing together and see it to the end" i could say the same thing, Vector. He pats her back, almost making her stumble forwards "i've changed my mind about you" that makes Violet laugh a little
"I knew you'd come through, Rookie" i raise an eyebrow "well... i guess you're not a rookie anymore!"
"Yeah. you could always just use my Name" Violet laughs, before Knuckles is pushed over by Rouge.
"You did good out there. It's not like you just waited until the last minute to come in and act all cool saving the day" she's talking about Omega, which makes me smile. Team Dark is actually really entertaining to spend time with... provided Omega doesn't get defensive over his friends. I blink out of my thoughts seeing Rouge wink at the hand outstretched robot. I hear a light grunt of amusement from my partner, and i lower a hand, poking his ear, making him glance up at me.
"Our battle is done and our resistance has come to a conclusion, but we'll be friends forever. A single person cannot restore the entire world. We have to work together and make a diligent effort!" i nod slightly to Tails' little speech, smiling slightly as others in the resistance make noises of agreement.
"Well? How're we all going to help out the citizens of this world recover from the eggface, hm?" i ask, leaning back, propping my arms on the crate. I flick an ear, seeing that Tails glances over
"Um... i guess regular ways, help them repair their homes, make sure there's food for the survivors... stuff like that?" i smile slightly
"How incredibly nonchalant of you" i laugh, swishing a tail "but that sounds good to me" i notice Violet leaving, and i see Stitch muttering to herself. I blink, before looking back to Team Dark, Rouge is talking with Omega, about what, i'm unsure, and Shadow hasn't moved from his lean. I take a second, before dropping down "Shadow, let's go steal some robot bits from Eggface's lab" he glances to me, raising an eyebrow, before shrugging, making me smile, and we walk out of the base, but not before
"Hey!" i stop in my step just outside, and glance back. Ember is walking over, caution glimmering in her eyes.
"What's up Ember?" i ask, smiling
"Can i come with? I'd think a lab has smooth enough surfaces to paint on... right?" i blink, before my smile grows into a beam
"It depends which lab we're talking about, but i think i know a couple where it'd be easy for you to paint!" i see her smile a bit, "i just hope you don't mind being the third wheel" that makes her roll her eyes
"Could care less" awesome!
"Well then, come on!" i bolt off, giggling when i hear a yelp of protest from the fellow cat, then seeing Shadow skating up to stay on pace with me.
Violet's POV
At sunset, i decide to look for Sonic, finding him at the top of a building, so i hookwire myself up there, landing a bit behind him. I walk over, standing beside him, watching the sunset, if anything to distract myself from my faster paced heartbeat. Get yourself Together, Violet.
"You're taking off, too?" Sonic starts, glancing over "i was thinking the same thing. You gonna keep moving forward? No matter what, yeah?" i smile. Of course! "Heh, you and i aren't so different" i nod, we sit in quiet for a moment "hope i can see you again" i flick in ears in surprise, as my face heats up. Is he saying that like i'm hoping?!
"Oh my goodness that was awkward" he thumps his head over "how does Nightly do that so easily" Nightly? He IS saying that like- oh my goodness. I... think my face is on fire... he glances up, and blinks "soo... you're dealing with these feelings too?" that... was SUCH an awkward confession. I purse my lips, and nod, unintentionally rubbing the hem of my dress idly
"S...so... should we meet up somewhere" as a first date? But for some reason, i can't form those words on my tongue. Sonic blinks, before smiling
"That'd be awesome! Um... here in two weeks?"
"Sounds good" he beams, before holding out a fist, which i return, bumping his fist, and he's pretty much bouncing on his feet now, before he runs off. Oh. my. Goodness. Am i in a relationship with him now?!? I almost faint with the happiness. After a minute, i turn in the opposite direction, and shoot off with my grappling hook.
