HARUTO'S POV ~

The guy's new.

Even if Haruto didn't have a perfect memory for faces, the boy's behavior would have been enough to give it away. He's nervous as he walks through the bar, his still-beating heart thrumming away in his chest every time a set of fangs is bared in his direction. And Haruto can see the tray of drinks trembling in his shaking hands.

He seems like a person who isn't used to being around vampires, so he can't imagine why the boy would end up working in a vampire playground of all places.

Haruto is self aware that there's more than a little sadism at play when he tells Mashiho, to have the new boy deliver his drink to his booth.

The bar's dark, illuminated only by the purple lights scattered about the main room, and the decor's the kind of melodramatic gothic shit that's become the popular thing among vampires lately. The only saving grace of the establishment is the quality of the drinks available, and Haruto finds himself licking his lips in anticipation when he sees the new waiter skirting the edge of the room with a fresh glass of B-negative clutched in his hands.

He loosens the top button of his shirt and straightens the sleeves of his jacket - he may have been legally dead for over fourty years but that doesn't mean he can't look presentable - and watches the new human come closer. He's pretty, all young, broad shoulders, long legs and lithe and nubile, but its the snapshots of hesitation but no fear which make him so very appealing.

He's in the standard uniform for bar staff, long legs covered by pressed black stacks and a black t-shirt that hugs the boy's broad frame. His neck is covered up, of course; it's wrapped up tight in a thick, dark collar that's designed to remove temptation for the patrons but has the added effect of keeping the boy's head held high, even when he looks like he'd rather hide himself away.

Haruto leans back in his chair as the boy gets closer and is once again grateful for the seclusion of a private booth when the human edges around the dividing wall with Haruto's drink in his hand. "M-Mr Haruto?"

Haruto's smile is all teeth (but no fangs). "That'd be me."

He doesn't make any move to take the drink from him, and his smile narrows to something darker when the guy inches forward to leave the glass of blood on the tabletop. "And you are?" He asks quickly, trying to make the handsome human stay.

The boy's head snaps up at the unexpected question and Haruto gets his first good look at the boy's pretty doe eyes. His face is colored by the purple lights but Haruto's vision is good enough to make out the honey of his irises and the pink swell of his full lips.

He wonders if his blood would taste sweeter when licked off his lips then taken straight from a vein.

"My name is J-Junkyu, Sir," the human stammers, reaching out to deposit Haruto's drink.

Haruto's on his feet before Junkyu can flee back to the safety of the bar and he smiles at the startled cry that Junkyu stifles in the back of his throat. Blocking his exit from the alcove, Haruto moves in close, eyes raking over Junkyu's body with a possessiveness that he doesn't even try to hide. "You new here, Junkyu?"

"Yes, Sir." Junkyu's throat is covered but Haruto knows that his Adam's apple is bobbing nervously right about now. "I started yesterday, Sir."

Haruto hums idly and looks up to meet Junkyu's eyes when he says, "Aren't you scared?"

Junkyu starts to shake his head but Haruto interrupts before he can speak, "Don't lie to me. I look young but I'm a good twenty years older than your age and I don't deal well with liars." Junkyu stumbles back a step at the serious tone that bleeds into his tone and Haruto uses this as an advantage to move him closer to the wall as he asks again, "Are you scared?"
