Your eyes were the galaxies of happiness,

But now black holes of sadness.

You listen to a parade with no bellow of the drums,

With only an inaudible gurgle of drowning under the pain.

The ache that they show may be eternal,

But can't we strive towards happiness?

I would will it to be.

I would wish that all your dreams be fulfilled,

But you cannot wish upon a star that is not there.

For they have disappeared above the clouds of pain where no one can see them,

And only you can bring them back.

Reach through the water, bring your head above and breathe.

The work may be excruciating,

But wouldn't you rather stargaze than listen to the roar of the thunder?

The great void of your soul is beginning to disappear.

Keep your head above, paddle to the shore.

You feel like giving up, but the heavens are with you, telling you that you can fight it.

The stars begin to return in your eyes.

Wrench yourself onto the shore, arise and climb to the mountain's peak.

The gravity is pulling you back, but your footholds are too resilient.

The clouds are beginning to succumb.

Braving the frozen of the mountain, you are almost there.

The wind is fighting you,

But you have the galaxies of the universe behind you, pushing you to go further.

You reach to the last stone, pulling yourself onto the mountaintop.

The rain breaks showing the heavens above you.

This poem is the one that I did for English. My English teacher said it was really good, so i decided to post it and see what you all think.
