When I was told i would be moving to Dairy I was upset to say the least. The Town was small from what I had looked up and had a mysterious history of missing children, but my Mother, Martha a single mother of me the one and only (Y/n) and my 6 year old brother Matthew, was insistent on moving to the pint size town in hopes of a calmer life.

The house we were moving into was fairly small, a three bedroom, one bathroom with a basement. It was nice and cozy, yet had an unsettling feeling, upon interning one might get the feeling of unease or that they are being watched. Little did I know I was being watched.

"Matthew will you please stop throwing chips at me" I sighed looking out the window as we pulled into the driveway of our new home.
"Matt stop pestering your Sister" my mother spoke, stern but with an edge of amusement.

Matthew laughed and went back to playing with whatever toy he was hyper fixated on at the moment.
The car parked and I opened my door, walking up to the front door of our new home waiting for my mother to finish getting Matthew out of his car seat.
Once his two feet were on the ground he ran towards me, dragging his toy dinosaur Rex behind him along the way.

My mother unlocked the door stepping inside and looking around.
"Well, what do you guys think" she spoke smiling at me.

"I think it's a bit messy" I giggled out to her.

"It's huge, we can get a dog we have so much space" Matthew spoke.

My mother roller her eyes, "no dog until you can take care of it by yourself".

I walked away into the hallway, the whining voice of my brother fading as I stepped further, I looked inside the rooms taking note of how big each was.

I finally got to the end of the hallway, a closed door with a small round door knob, I placed my hand on it.

Slowly turning it I pulled the door open, the hinges were rusty, a loud shreakimg sound came from it as I started down into the darkness.

I flipped the switch, the light in the basement was dim a small light at the bottom of the stairs .
I placed a foot on the first step the board creaking under me.
Once at the bottom of the steps I looked around.

It was cold down here, and the floors were cement. Looking around I felt uneasy the feeling of being watched crept over me.

The boards of the stairs creaked behind me, I spun around to face the empty staircase as I felt something cold press against my back.
I screamed out and turned around ready to punch the shit out of whatever had touched me only to be faced with nothing.

I laughed to myself, wiping imaginary sweat from my forehead.

"Dumbass" a faint whisper.

I looked around, me being a firm believer in ghost but also a person with a very big ego was reasonably upset.

"Excuse you" i huffed out at the empty basement around me.

"I said Dumbass, it's what you are" a male voice sounded out.

Turning to where the voice came from I was face with a person standing in the dark, just far enough from the dingy light I couldn't make out their features.

I squinted trying to make out anything about them, their lanky figure moved closer revealing a semi tall black headed teenage boy. Perhaps a few years older than me.

I recognized his face, from a missing persons flyer I saw online when researching Dairy.
A missing persons flyer from the 80s.

I gasped, falling back which is a stupid predictable thing all people us horror movies do I know but I was shocked.

He laughed " did my beauty scare you?" He smirked and held out a hand to me.

I reached up hesitant to touch his hand, he quickly grabbed mine, his firm Freezing cold hand wrapped around mine like a puzzle piece fitting into place.

He yanked me up and looked down into my eyes, "I think we're gunna be friends (Y/n)" he leant down until I could feel his breath on my lips. "I really do".

"(Y/n) are you okay down there?" My mother called from upstairs, I looked up the stairs and back to where The boy was only to find nothing but air in his place.

"Yeah mom I'm good" I called running up the stairs, the feeling of being watched followed me while I set up my room, it followed me all the way into the night.

I stood in-front of one of my many boxes I had yet to put up. Pulling out clothes until I found my favorite pair of pajamas.

I looked around, a scared look on my face as I slowly lifted my shirt off.

"Hey (Y/n)" the voice of the boy spoke behind me.

I yanked my shirt down and spun around to face him.

"Leave me alone I'm trying to change"

His snarky look made my blood boil, "I've seen better". His eyes scanned me up and down before he turned around.

"Go on change, I'm not looking".

"No way, get out" I whispered out to him.

He didn't move, i counted my options and finally tuned around and changed into my pajamas.

When I turned back around he was gone, so with my hands shaking and my feeling of unease growing I dragged myself into my bed and fell into a very unrest full sleep.
