Two Little Ghosts chapter 7
Hermione Granger had been sick for a while. It was not subjective but a fact. As so many things were. She had just managed to memorize her beloved dictionary from cover to cover, front & back, the whole lot of it.
But she was very sick. No, she was near the point of being ex-ceed-ing-ly sick. Exceedingly meant to a great extent. She couldn't ask the owners for medicine that would mean they'd have to care for her. She was glad she got one meal a day she didn't want for it to go zero.
But she was hurt besides sickness. Maybe the sickness was because of the injury? The medical tome would know. The owners had sent up a big, razor-sharp knife. Maybe they meant for this to happen? She knew she wasn't perfect like they were. Was it sent up so they could bring in that "perfect" son they wanted to adopt? She found the knife again. Even if it brought more pain it would be momentary and then everything that was hurt would be gone, wouldn't it?
Hermione soon found herself floating above her body. She could see her body pooling with blood everywhere. She could see out the window that the owners were coming home with an empty back seat. It drove silently with none of the usual "perfect" music lingering in the air.
No, there was a boy in the backseat. Oh, he's like me? The boy was slightly translucent like she was and even skinnier than she had ever been. Maybe they could get along? He did have perfect emerald green eyes but he didn't have a scar on his forehead at all. Did it come off as her wounds disappeared from her? She could see she was a ghost and so was the boy.
Where and how did the boy die? If he was perfect then surely it was the family that produced such a perfect child. Although, a whole family to be so perfect like the owners were would be out of place, wouldn't it? The owners were coming up to the driveway. She wanted to leave her tower now that she could but something still anchored her to her tower.
