Chapter 5 The Jungle Witch
--Three years later, Mirabel's pov--
I have lived in the jungle's oasis for a long time now. I killed hunters and poachers when they came too close. I put up amulets and wards around thirty meters out and inwards to keep the animals and myself safe. I have fully become a witch of the jungle.
In addition, I heal the wounded if they were refugees, regular citizens, bandits, or anybody that came across in my areas. I would give them a bottle of my tears and joy; it can even heal paralyzed people or other more deadly diseases. I also gave them rubies if they looked like they needed money. No one remembered my face or how to find me; that was just fine by me.
A new visitor came today wounded on accident when straying too close to a mother jaguar and cubs. I turned her (the visitor) over onto her back and couldn't believe my eyes. It was Luisa! I healed her and let her wake up naturally. We had a joyous reunion, and Luisa told me what had happened in my absence. She said she only wanted me to let her visit or stay by my side. I was grateful for her choice. So, I built her a small hut next to mine. We helped each other, animals, or other people until it was time for us to part for the next life.
