Watari Ryouta's POV
3 months laterSo many changes as time went past.
One, a call from the man that I never expected before. "Mr. Miyazono, hello"
That's where I learned that he has been ordered to do his civic duty pertaining to Tsubaki's case. "Long time no see, and I have to told you this... this case worried me a lot." he began. "Especially with Ryouko and I have two little kids now to take care of, I was worried about their safety. But now, I glad to hear that your girlfriend has been found and is recovering... her friend too. Then, I got summoned to the district court, and this is the main reason I call you, Mr. Ryouta... I was appointed as one of the lay judges for Miss Sawabe's case. Please support our work and I promise you, that I will make sure justice be served."
Now with the case has been given to the prosecutors and soon the court, I am lucky to learn that one of the insiders of this task was the man I know, as well as Kousei and Tsubaki.
To present day, I stood in watch here in her room when she faced the mirror for the first time after all this time, that she would be okay. Even with her swollen belly her liveliness were slowly coming back.
Saitou did the same to his lover, as well, to my gratitude, as I cannot handle two girls at the same time.
"How are you today, Tsubaki?"
What happened was that she, for the first time ever, to call me by my full name.
"Much better, Watari Ryouta."
"Shall we take a walk?" It's weekend, so I could afford to be in this hospital for a day.
"Sure."
We did so, with Tsubaki sometimes caressing her belly. At the hospital's garden a familiar sight greeted us.
Kashiwagi with her father.
"Good morning, uncle."
"Good morning, Watari-kun."
From there, her face was clear, there was no smile yet on Kashiwagi's being. But what is important to us that she is safe.
"Anyway, I think my daughter is growing to like your best friend, the one who played the piano."
"Uncle, even if he already has a girlfriend, I think he still got a room available for yet another friendship with her."
Tetsuya replied. "I understand, he is a good guy after all. Sure Saitou won her heart, through. One thing for sure, those scumbags cannot separate you from your true love. Just like Saitou with my daughter."
"Anyway, do you have an update on the investigation?" He asked.
"Both Saitou as well as Mr. Miyazono called me yesterday with the same news... the prosecutors said they are still need more evidence, especially with the fact that there are multiple, possibly related, cold cases in multiple prefectures here in Honshu Island as far as Yamaguchi."
I gritted my teeth, knowing how much those two had hurt my love. "Those people are quite difficult to made cooperative." he told me.
"Honestly, if I have my own way, I want those two dead on the spot, and I mean it, sir." I said.
In the meantime, Tsubaki sat together with Kashiwagi, and from there I listened to how they reconnect with each other. Just girl with girl moment that I must not disturb.
"She suffered too much because of them." Kashiwagi cried. "I often thought that we won't make it out alive".
Everything has changed, but I am thankful for their survival and the process of healing were doing it's magic.
That night, one nurse came with a news that all of us had expected after so long.
"Ms. Sawabe and Ms. Nao, we have good news. You have been cleared for a home care. A great hearted man had paid all the bills and tomorrow, you can go home. He had arranged both of you assigned psychologist and gynecologist."
My phone rung suddenly.
"Excuse me."
I answered "Hello?"
"Mr. Ryouta, this is Uncle Takahiko speaking."
Yes, when he came back to Kousei's life over the year, I found myself in his good company to the point that Takahiko, one of the most powerful billionaire in Japan, has allowed me to call him Uncle.
"I have arranged my house; Kousei's; to be used for both healing and protection to Tsubaki and Kashiwagi. Tomorrow, you are to head there."
I answered. "Thank you very much, Uncle."
When it's time for us to head for our temporary shelter, I never expect that in the house that Tsubaki and I were familiar with, Kousei's dad had arranged his servants and friends to bring our stuff in.
The mansion is big, but we had taken it for granted to realize how much space was inside.
"Please..." Tsubaki croaked, thanks to the memory of the similar house when she was confined. I put a grip on her hand, before I let her to be closer at me, then a kiss to her forehead, it worked - thank heaven.
"I won't leave you again, I promise."
And so, for a couple of days under Uncle Takahiko's protection I was grateful for being allowed to do my work mostly-at-home while keeping my eyes on the therapists sent to Tsubaki.
The less I talk, the more accepting Tsubaki with me, as how much her trouble with men remained; luckily Uncle Takahiko did put this into account by ensuring that the medical teams were girls-only.
In addition with that, I kept tab with regular updates from Saito as well as Mr. Miyazono.
"How was she?" I referred to Kashiwagi as Saito and I were on a call one night from our respective homes.
"Good news... She's talking to me more and more - even she want to sleep with me. She said that I shall not leave her again."
"As I expected" I whispered.
"Oh, Watari-kun" Saito continued. "Don't tell our girls yet, but you know, with the current situation at hand, I think we are going to marry our girls early. Sorry... more like 'have to'. The babies are going to need fathers."
I nodded.
"Well I forget to tell you, Saito-kun... I have told her what I am about to do with her, by the way. Why so long?"
Saito answered me. "To be honest, I feared that she will reject me, and lastly I don't know how well she will take my question about if she want to keep the baby..."
"She said yes, right?"
"Yes, she will keep the baby for me. They are innocent, remember..."
"It will be better, now you said that, tell everything to her. For me, I am going to do it this week. The week when there will be scheduled continuation of yesterday's hearing for those two, in fact."
"Well, so be it. Goodbye, and see you later. I have to get back to my office, too."
The light was still dim, but the brightness was increasing day by day. I also going to tell Kousei and Emi about the next plan, and in the weekend, if Tsubaki is fit enough, I planned to bring her to the temple, and then moved on to the next phase of our bright future ahead, not as two, but one!
