It had been 6 months exactly since Adelaide had gone missing and there was still no sign of her. Everyday Kali hoped that she would wake up and Adelaide would be there and everything was normal again but she was losing hope. At school everyone knew her as the girl whos sister had gone missing and they would all be extra nice to her which Kali absolutely hated.

On TV there would always be reports on the 'Anniversary of Adelaide Brown's disappearance.' and Kali new there would be even more talk today because it was the half a year anniversary. Carrie was very supportive of Kali and was always telling her things would be ok. Adelaide's room was still the same and Kali and her Mum hadn't been in it for months. Kali had realised that she couldn't stay depressed and gloomy for the rest of her life and was very slowly trying to become hapy again. It was especially hard at home because to get downstairs you had to pass Adelaide's room which would remind both of them of their beloved family member.

Kali was sitting out on her front porch swinging on the hammock just staring out at the big trees and the birds that were happily playing. It was a nice day outside, not to hot and not to cold but most people were still inside in the cool aircon. Kali would often come out here and have a nap, she found it so peacefuland relaxing. She felt her phone vibrate underneath her bum and stuggled to grab it.

1 NEW MESSAGE it read:

POOR LITTLE KALI, WHERE'S HER LITTLE SISTER GONE? I THINK I KNOW.

"What?" Kali gasped and saw that it was from a blocked number. She hopped out of the hammock and walked out onto the side of the road and looked around to see if anyone was there. Nothing. It was probably some teenagers messing around with her but it still hurt her that people could mess with her. Suddenly everything around her went calm and things became very eery. She decided to go inside where she felt more safe. Her Mum was at work and she hated being home alone now. She went inside and grabbed some bread out of the fridge and was about to make some toast when she heard something familiar.

"Today marks the 6month disappearance of Paxton teen Adelaide Brown. Police have held off on the search and say there was no clues as to what happened that night on April 11th."

Kali stopped making her toast and burst out into tears. How can her sister be gone forever? She missed her so much and desperately wanted her back home.It wasn't fair! Adi was such a good girl and didn't deserve this. She ran upstairs tomwash her face. As she walked up the top something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. There was a blue hair ribbon stuck to Adi's door. Kali instantly ripped it off and knew straight away that it was her sisters because she would always wear it in her hair, it was one of her favourites.

"How on Earth did it get here?" She mumbled to herself gently stroking it through her fingers. It even smelt like her. Kali suddenly remembered back to that night and could clearly remember Adi wearing that ribbon in her hair at school so she must have been wearing it when she... disappeared. It had to be hers because it had the same love heart drawn by Kali in the corner of it. As she kept playing with it she saw that on the back is had writing on it in big black capital letters.

I TOLD YOU.

Kali couldn't beleive what she was reading. First a text and now this. Had someone been in her house and planted this there so that she would find it? She thought that she was being paranoid and tried to get it out of her head. She took the ribbon and hid it under her pillow. How would someone have know that Kali had drawn a loveheart on it? And get it to smell like her? It had to be the original one that Adi was wearing that night. Should she goto the police and have them search for fingerprints? She quickly grabbed her phone and slid it in her pocket. She picked the ribbon up from under the pillow and raced downstairs.

Kali was almost at the police station when she heard her phone beeping. She quickly grabbed it incase it was her Mum and answered it.

"Hey Mum, are you ..." She was cut off by the person on the other end. A computerized voice started speaking.

"I wouldn 't hand that in if I were you, infact I wouldn't tell ANYONE about this, you wouldn't want something happening to your little sister now would we?"

"WHO ARE YOU?" Kali screamed into the phone like a lunatic but she didn't care.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?" but they had already hung up. Her eyes quickly darted around the street but she was the only one there. She debated whether or not to go into the police station or not. What if they could find some fingerprints on the ribbon? They could find out who put it there and they might have Adelaide, but if she did then something bad might happen to her. She decided to hand it in anyway. The person on the phone was probably messing with her and this could be a lead in the investigation. She walked into the newly built bulding with even more determination. She didn't care anymore, she wanted her sister back.

That night Kali couldn't sleep, she kept tossing and turning and constantly thinking about the ribbon. She would imagine the police coming round with Adelaide and she was perfectly fine, they had found finger prints on the ribbon and they had found her alive and healthy. She knew that was never going to happen. She decided to go down to the kitchen and get some milk, that always helped her sleep.

She quietly tiptoed down the stairs and saw that her Mum had left the kitchen light on. She grabbed the milk carton out of the fridge and poured herself a glass. Suddenly she heard banging outside and saw someone running through the bushes. Kali quickly grabbed a knife and ran over to the glass doors and peered outside. Could this be the person that put the ribbon on Adelaide's door? She could see something sitting on the porch. She waited until she was certain no one was there and flicked the back light on. She cautiously stepped outside and ran to the end of the porch, her heart beating out of her chest. She grabbed it and sprinted back inside. She made sure she locked the door and turned the light off before going upstairs. As she walked up she looked at what she was holding and saw it was a package. All it had written on it was TO KALI in big black capital letters, the same letters that were on the ribbon. Kali knew it musn't be good whatever was inside but just had to open it. She flicked her lamp on and sat on her bed ripping open the package. It was a doll about the length of her elbow to her hand. It had its eyes stabbed in and scratches all over its face and body with dirt smeared everywhere. Its arms and legs were all bent and the most frightening thing of all, was that it had a head full of Adelaide's hair.

I TOLD YOU NOT TO HAND IT IN.
