Sixteen

Lily quickly got herself together as she pulled her watch up, typing on the holographic screen.

"What are you doing?" Rick asked.

"I'm going to find our grandson!" She said. "Before he fucking kills himself!"

"How in the hell are you going to find him?" Rick asked.

"I slipped a tracker on him awhile ago....." She admitted. "Just in case." She locked onto his signal. "Got it!"

"Wait, what about me?" Rick asked.

"Your ass can stay here and work on the fucking song. You're not coming with me and that's final." She opened a portal and walked through it. When she stepped through, she didn't see Morty anywhere. She checked the screen and kept checking each world as she tracked him down.

"He is so lucky I don't tell his mother about this." Lily mumbled to herself as she typed on the screen still. She heard her phone ring and she looked. It was Birdperson. She answered and put it on speaker.

"Not a good time, BP. I'm trying-"

"I have Morty. He was appearing to be dying, but I have prevented that. I am working on fixing Rick's portal gun."

"Keep my grandson there." She said through her teeth as she hung up. She opened a portal to Birdperson's home. As she opened the door, she heard Birdperson ask Morty

"Morty, suppose you could retrieve your family from Earth, but had to abandon Rick. I could give your loved ones shelter on birdworld. Even jobs, possibly as worm ranchers. How often do you think you might look up at the stars and wonder what might have been had you just put your faith in Rick?" Lily stormed in.

"Or your grandmother for that matter."

"Grandma, I-I-" Morty rubbed his arm.

"No, I don't want to hear it. I have told you time and time again that our portal guns are not toys, Morty! You could have died!" Lily grabbed his face. "Do you realize that? If Birdperson didn't find you and if I couldn't have found you in time, you would be dead right now, Morty!"

"I-I'm sorry, Grandma, I w-w-wasn't thinking! I... was just so worried that we would lose..."

"We aren't going to lose, sweetie, no matter what." She slapped him slightly, not enough to hurt, but enough to sting. "Don't you ever do that again, understand me??" Morty nodded.

"THAT WAS CHUNKYTUNK WITH FULL MING MONG, EMPTY GOBBDORK! UP NEXT, PLANET EARTH!" They heard the show say as Lily and Morty look at the screen.

"Oh, God! We're up?!" Morty asked. Lily grabbed the portal gun from Birdperson.

"Thank you for saving his life, BP, but we need to go and we'll need to talk about... that at some point." Lily said, nodding towards the human girl.

"Tammy?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No time. Got to go." Lily opened a portal with her gun and threw Morty through. As she walked in, she noticed the room was empty.

"Hello?" Lily called out.

"Oh my god." Morty said before running out. Lily followed and saw the President on the ground tied up.

"Mr. President?" Lily asked. Once he got I gagged, he panted and scrambled for the intercom.

"This is Bluebird. Code Tango Niner Alpha. Abort launch! Abort! Hello?" He looked disappointed and looked at Lily and Morty. "He blocked me out."

"Sir, we need to get to the stage and help Rick Get Schwifty." Morty said.
