Chapter 23 : Gloom Botany

"Very well." Stolas walked towards the garden's exit cheerfully, trying to uplift the mood.

"This way Lawrence." He pushed the doors open and turned to Lawrence.

"Right behind you." Lawrence followed him.

"Great. Oh yes, I should remind you, stay away from the plants." Stolas pointed at a rose, a lot like the one with the mirror in it.

The rose started emitting napalm from the tips of its thorns, charring the pot it was growing in.

"Very Caliente." Stolas said as the two kept on walking.

"Uh-huh. By the way Stolas, Why do you have so many plants here? Dangerously alive even." Lawrence walked by his side trying to not get too close to the potted plants.

One of the plants snapped at Stolas. "Bad plant!" Stolas tapped the plant's head, and it growled.

"I have them because they keep the house lively." Stolas said gleefully. Another plant extended its leaves to catch a large demon fly, it pulled it back in like it never moved in the first place.

"Some of them are cute." Stolas smiled at a panda bear-looking plant. The fluff on the bulb was black and white. This plant seemed to be harmless.

"Aw... That looks cute. Can I?" Lawrence asks Stolas as he raised out his hand ready to pet the panda bear plant.

"Oh, yes of course. This one is one of the safe ones. Along with the rest of the ones in this hall. The others back there are separate from the safe ones. The dangerous ones are on the right side of my manor, and the safe and cute ones are on the left. That's why we're going left to my daughter's room. I wanted to keep her safe from the plants that bite when she was young." Stolas watched as Lawrence pet the plant.

The plant purred as it was being rubbed. Lawrence cooed because of its friendly nature.

"I get why you love plants now. This one is adorable, It even looks like a real panda! Though a bit grassy." Lawrence stopped petting it as he looked at Stolas.

"So, What is Octavia like?"

"Well, she changed ever since Stella and I had started our arguments. A while ago if you're curious. She's still my daughter." Stolas smiled sadly.

"She may not see me and her mother the same way anymore, but I believe you and her will do just fine together." Stolas stopped in front of a door with a galaxy painted on the wood. A sign was taped to the door.

No Parents Allowed

Another little heading underneath the main text said

Knock before you enter or I'll be pissed - ;)

The paper seemed to be rather fresh. It seems Octavia replaces this sign often.

*Knock knock

'This reminds me of every teenager's emo phase.' Lawrence cringed.

"Octavia dear! I have a guest I want you to meet! He's not like my brother-in-law!" Stolas smiled, waiting for her response.

"Uh... Stolas? Should we even be here? You know how teenagers are, they're a bit... How do I say this... Rude." Lawrence gestured with his hand trying to be polite with his words as they waited.

"It's fine Lawrence. Simply don't try to upset her and I'm sure she'll do the same to you." Stolas idly tapped his feet.

A lanky, unkempt avian demon unlocked the door and looked at them with disinterest. She is wearing a pink glittery dress, a dark feather shawl around her shoulders, pink arm warmers with stars on them, black boots, and a black beanie hat with a pale tiara design on it. She also has a pink choker around her neck.
