London's POV
I sat in front of my bedroom mirror, humming, and curling my light brown hair. I tapped my foot to some song I had stuck in my head, all while making sure I didn't burn my head.
I watched the steam come off my last strand of hair and pulled the plug. I grabbed some mascara and put some on, and heard the bathroom door shut quietly.
My sister, Savanna, shuffled out pulling down on her sweatshirt sleeves, and blowing some dark brown bangs from out of her face. I gave her a small smile, before looking back at myself in the mirror and adjusted my black and white skirt.
Savanna came and laid her head on my shoulder. I stood there, leaning my head on hers. We stood there for a couple of minutes, exchanging long sighs.
"Savanna! London! Come down stairs please!" My mom yelled from somewhere downstairs. We walked out and flew down the stairs, finding our mom in the kitchen.
She motioned for us to sit, and she had a small frown on her face. Savanna and I gave each other a glance before, slowly sitting down.
She held two of the same object in her hand, and she pushed it across the table. They were passports with our names on them. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked up at her.
She sighed and rubbed her temples. "Look girls. I-I just can't support you anymore."
Savanna and I immediately wore a frown. She always told us when something was wrong, but this time seemed different.
"You are going to live with a cousin of yours. Your Aunt said that he and his friends could take you in." She explained quietly.
"Forever?" Savanna asked, her voice cracking. I could already tell she wasn't going to take this well.
"No! Of course not!" Our mom exclaimed. "It's only until you can get back on your feet." She said quickly.
There was a long silence before I spoke up. "So is this for your benefit, or ours?"
"Yours of course! Sweetie, why'd you think I would want to get rid of you?" She said, hurt in her voice.
I cringed inwardly and shrugged. Savanna wouldn't look up from her lap. Our mom shifted awkwardly.
"Well your bags are already packed. Your flight leaves in about four hours." She replied quietly. "Is there anything I can get you before you go?"
I glanced at Savanna then back at our mom. "Can we make some cookies? Like old times?"

I stumbled out of the bathroom holding my stomach. I grabbed a tissue and wiped the corners of my mouth.
Savanna gave me a small smile, and we headed back downstairs, where our mom held our bags. She handed them to us, and gave us a long hug.
"I'm gonna miss you." She cried quietly.
"So will we mom." I replied , patting her back. We packed our trunk and got into the car. I rolled the window down and my mom stood there smiling.
We waved to her and she waved back. "Have fun in Canada! Keep me updated!"
