It's the year 2080. Almost everything is technology, nothing is man made anymore. There are restaurants with robots making and serving the food. There are even robots on the road that are acting as people. To be honest I think that everybodys going to be replaced by robots. I mean the world is already full of them so why would it change for people? I was born in the year 2065 making me 15. Im a highschool student in Foxwood High in the state of livrid. The country that I live in was discovered in 2040 when geographers were looking around for some unknown land that had been reported by a fisher on the west side of the U.S. Something I think about a lot if the year of 2019-2022. Those were the years that we are told, shit went down. My mom and dad always tell me that the things that they went through are things that they never expected to be in textbooks so quickly. It's weird, time. Time is a very interesting thing, it always has its secrets. One minute you will be hanging out with your friends at noon and the next minute it is midnight. My mom always said "time flies by when you're having fun." but It never really makes sense. The person next door could have been waiting for days for the clock to hit midnight but for us we forgot what time was. For our parents it's been 57 years since the CoronaVirus pandemic had started to settle down. That is a lot of time passed by for our parents. I can't even imagine what time was like then.

"Hey!" I nearly jumped out of my seat. "Zuri, what did I say about scaring me like that..." I grunted. "Oh I never remember you telling me that, Ameerah." she teased
"What do you want?"
"Did you know that in the year 2020 two robots were programmed together and they ended up making their own language?!"
"So you're telling me that you scared the shit out of me, just to tell me this?"
"I wonder what it's like to be from the year 2020" She whispered to herself.
"Are you even listening to me?" I ask
"Nope, so anyways. How are you?"
"I'm not sure, just thinking."
"About what?"
"Nothing, mind ya business" i spit
"Ok whatever, Also thanks for asking. Im ok" she jokes
"Will y'a just do your work already??" I snap
"Mind y'a business" she snaps back.
I roll my eyes in annoyance.
She always knows how to get to me. I get annoyed really easily and she loves teasing me. If only I didn't love her so goddamn much. Zuri and I have been friends since a very young age, maybe 5. We met in school. I needed a partner for coloring and she noticed me in the corner by myself then came over to work with me. Ever since then we just stuck. It's sad all the things that she has been through. From the things that she has told me, she's gone through a lot. There is a lot of her life that she does not share with me and I'm not sure if she ever will. "Hey!" I hear a loud snap sound, "Why do you keep zoning out!?" I look around. I see rows and rows of lined desks in such a small place. I see a handful of kids, around my age sitting at these desks. None of them looked happy or wanted to be in this room. The room is dark and it has a very unwelcoming smell, like an animal died. It's hard to breathe, very stuffy. The energy in this room is none like ive ever felt. It's heavy, and depressing. I hear the voice again
"Ameerah! Snap out of it!" I look straight ahead and see my teacher. Mrs.Rota.
"I, sorry ma'am, i didn't kn-"
"Do you need to be sent to the office?"
"No ma'am, i'm sorry i am just going through a-"
"Nobody cares Ameerah, everyone is going through things! You need to start listeni-!"
"And nobody cares that your husband divorced you " Zuri interrupts
"Excuse me young la-"
"How come Ameerah can't zone out for 2 minuets in class because she is struggling but you can miss a whole week of school because your husband didnt fucking love you. Nobody cares, but nobody says anything."
"You need to watch your mou-"
"I don't need to watch shit. You need to watch the way you talk to the students in YOUR class, it's very easy for a student to get a teacher fired with enough evidence provided." Zuri threatens with a smirk
"Very well then." Mrs.Rota looks back at me with a look of anger. "Ok, let's just continue the lesson." I look back to see that zuri is gone, but I also see a pink shadow leasing a trail outside of the class.
