Lena stared out the window of her office, admiring the night skyline of Metropolis city. She sipped her gin and watched her assistant Eve's reflection in the window as she approached Lena from behind.
"Ms. Luthor," said Eve, "The Iceberg Lounge has agreed to host your event on the 30th."
Lena nodded. It gave her no joy to work with the scum in Gotham, but she felt as though she had been left with no choice. She had ideas that would bring humanity into the future and save countless lives down the line, the first of which being enhancing human life through virtual computer interface. However the DEO had refused to give her the necessary technology. Instead she would have to buy scavenged alien tech off the black market, deals usually reserved for corrupt world leaders buying with entire nations' worths of currency. Even LexCorp's pockets weren't deep enough. Lena simply needed this funding.
"I see," nodded Lena, turning to Eve, "and what of Supergirl?"
"...Supergirl, Ms. Luthor?"
"Yes, Kara Danvers. I asked you to keep tabs on her?"
"Right!" recalled Eve, "Nothing out of the ordinary. Supergirl is still saving the day every now and then and Danvers is still writing pretty standard stories for the Planet."
"Hm," pondered Lena.
"Are you certain they're the same person?" asked Eve doubtfully.
"I'm certain," assured Lena, "That woman feigned befriending me with both of her identities. It is something I will not forget."
"Very well, Ms. Luthor," nodded Eve, "If you say so."
Lena squinted as though she didn't like that answer. After a moment she gestured at Eve.
"That's a lovely dress," she said, "It looks great on you."
"Oh," smiled Eve, looking down at her outfit, "Thanks!"
It was one of Eve's favorites. It was a knee length turquoise dress with a white collar, white trim, and a white belt cinching the waist. The dress fit Eve well and it was one of her favorite looks; one she was very proud of.
"Change into something else."
"...excuse me?"
"One of those suits we keep in the back perhaps."
"The ones we use for wait staff?" asked Eve, "I don't think there are any in my size."
Eve was a rather petite woman. The vast majority of suits they had would be several sizes too large. She would look ridiculous.
"I'm aware," replied Lena, maintaining eye contact as she took another sip of gin.
Eve nodded nervously and left to change into the unflattering outfit.

"What do you think?" asked Kara.
Kara opened the door into her apartment to allow Kate in. Kate looked around the place. The apartment itself didn't seem much different from most, but the difference in effort put into design was substantial. Kara had framed photos, uniformly matching furniture, a tasteful amount of knick-knacks and just the right amount of clutter to make the place seem lived in.
Kara had only moved in recently after being promoted to a journalist at the Planet. The bump in pay (as well as the money she saved living with and being compensated by the Titans) had allowed her to upgrade apartments and move in on her own.
"It's nice," said Kate, "You decorate the place yourself?"
"I had some help," shrugged Kara, "Wonder Girl."
