"Can you believe it Y/n? Our lives are finally going to be happy again!" My mother beamed, while she turned the wheel of the new car her sugar daddy had bought her just last month.
The thing is this 'sugar daddy's isn't just some 80 year old man she met on Tinder, in fact he's way worse.
The man who bought my mother this car is none other than Tony Stark, the world's most wealthiest, prestiged, woman snatcher out there.
"Oh, I'll believe it all right...that my life is slowly turning into a living hell." I mumbled, slouching myself up against the car window, watching the cold dead sky of New York pass overhead.
"Y/n, don't say that! You're life is turning out for the better. This move will bring you tons of good experiences, and Tony-" My mom got out before, I cut her off, snapping myself away from the window.
"Tony what?! Tony is just some guy you've been fucking behind dad's back for the last six months! If anything you're the reason why my life sucks now." I snapped at her, my chest rising heavily from my outburst.
An awkward silence swarmed the car, the only sound being that of the heater, that was now on full blast. I huffed, and bent down towards the floorboard, pulling up my backpack which contained my airpods.
I hastily sat the back down on my knees and unzipped it, rummaging through the different contents of snack items, my toothbrush, and for some reason a collection of baseball cards.
I was growing impatient now and I was on the verge of having a screaming fit, when all of a sudden my hand brushed up against a familiar case, my airpods. Yes.
That anger slowly began fading from me as I pulled the tiny white case out of my backpack. It's not the first time I'd drown my sorrows in music, and it certainly wouldn't be the last.
I opened the case and removed both airpods, eyeing them both down before sticking one in my ear. "Y/n...I-I'm sorry-" My mother was going on another tangent, and I was sick of it. The constant apologies, the constant 'I love you's, and worst of all that promise that life would be better.
I whipped my attention towards her, that stoic look not leaving my face. "I don't want to hear it right now mom, just keep your eyes on the road." I muttered, placing the other airpod in.
I pulled out my phone and pushed shuffle on my playlist, immediately 'Ironic' came on by Alanis Morissette and I set my phone down in my lap. I snuggled myself against the window once more, dreading the moment where we would pull up in front of the infamous Avengers Tower.
I slowly began drifting off to sleep, the music drowning out the heater, and sounds my mother was making. Before, I knew it I was out cold, laying up against the window.
Let's take this shit show back to the very beginning...
Over the years my life would have been classified as 'normal,' typical family of four, with me being the oldest. A suburban house somewhere in New Jersey, and to top it all off golden retriever named Lucy.
We were a perfect family...on the outside, but on the inside we were all kinds of fucked up.
About a year ago my dad was laid off from his job, and sure enough try as he might he couldn't even land an interview. So, my mom decided to give it a shot and applied at Stark Industries, where she was accepted into an interview the following day.
She came home that night bearing a huge smile, signaling she had indeed got the job, and we were all happy for her but things got weird REAL fast.
She would travel between New Jersey and New York a lot, sometimes staying in a hotel, the thing is her job title was just being a receptionist, now why would she need to travel? I began getting suspicious of what she was doing, so I began studying her every move.
