Meeting eyes

Kat's POV
I was just walking by and then I saw this girl. She was beautiful.. Nothing like I had ever seen before. She was brunette with dark, glossy brown eyes. But there was just something about her.. Not just her amazing looks... But I felt like she had a great personality too.. Many said that she was either out of my league or she was too ugly. I didn't listen obviously because she was just so gorgeous, I tuned out things like that. A lot of people said we would be a cute couple. Those were the type of things I listened to. "Hey, are you okay?" I froze. It was That beautiful girl. "Yeah I'm fine" I smiled. "Hey, you're that new girl, Kat right?" I smiled again, "Thats my name, don't wear it out" what the fuck did I just say.. Oh god... "Hey, since we are both new to this school, being 6th graders and all, we need some new friends right?" She started to say. "Uh, yeah, I guess." I smirked. "Well, I was thinking, to get to know each other better as friends, do you wanna come over to my house after school? Since, you know, it is Friday." I said sure and we went to all our classes and met up after school. "KAT!!" She yelled. "Oh, hey! So what's the plan, Stan?" why am I embarrassing myself? Ugh never mind I can't hear her over my thinking. "OH!! I never gave you my name!! It's Jinx, by the way." "That's a cool name but.. How did find out what my name was earlier today?" I said. "Oh, one of your friends happened to be my friends and she told me." "You asked for my name? How come?" I asked, a little suspicious. She blushed. "You just looked friendly, I had to ask." She said, still blushing. I pretended to not notice it. "Oh okay, that makes sense." So I went over to her house and we went to the movies and it was really fun. I liked her so much that I asked to spend the night. My mom said yes but I have to check in every 30 minutes, so I did. Jinx and I did blind folded makeovers and she invited more friends over so we played would you rather and truth or dare. Someone dared Jinx to kiss one of her friends.. Everyone else laughed and giggled at the idea except for Jinx and I... We looked at each other at the same time.. It's like we were thinking the same thing... "I-I can't" Jinx hesitated. Everyone gasped except me. I actually wanted to smile, but i faked a gasp anyways. "I don't want to hurt anyone.." She said. "Who would you be hurting?" Said the girl she was supposed to kiss.. I think her name was.. Ali? "Um... I could be hurting... Um..." She started blushing again. It was so adorable when she blushed. She looked at me with those glossy brown eyes and I looked at her with my bright blue eyes and at first I thought it was lightning. "Ahh lightning flash!! I hate lightning and thunder storms!!" She screamed. She ran up to me and cuddled me really tightly. She saw it too..

Jinx POV

Well this is awkward.. I looked up at her bright blue eyes and it happened again.. The lightning flash.. I dug my head into her shoulders and squinted my eyes in fear as she rubbed my back. Everyone looked at us weirdly.. I looked around the room and wiped my eyes. "Um there was no lightning..." Ali looked at us the weirdest out of everyone when she said that. I wonder if she is jealous.. That would be funny! Well Kat is mine so ha.. This is weird because I'm talking to her through my mind.. Yup, I'm officially insane.. "Yeah there was! I saw the flash!! Twice!!" I exclaimed. my eyes started watering up again.. It almost made Kat cry but I could tell she was holding back her tears. "Um no there wasn't.. No one else saw the flash but you and there wasn't a loud boom" Ali put on a sour face.. Almost angry like.. She is definitely jealous.. "I saw it too.. But I don't think it was lightning if only Jinx and I saw it.. Especially when we look at each other.." Kat explained. "You saw it too Kat?" I asked. "Yeah Jinx.. I saw it.. I don't know what it means but I can do some research if you want." Kat asked me. "Yeah sure."

Kat's POV

So I went home, did some research, turns out, this flash usually happens between newly friended people but when one friend has a crush on the other then the one with said crush sees a flash in that persons eyes and it bounces of of each others until the "moment" is faded between that one person. If they have a crush on each other they wouldn't see a flash, but more of an electric spark. All I saw was a flash.. So she doesn't have a crush on me too? It's only me? I can't show her this research.. I'll just say that it happens between newly friended people sometimes when they have a strong connection telling you you're gonna be friends forever.. Yeah.. That's what I'll say.. But if we are gonna be friends forever then I can't lie to her.. If I don't say anything.. Does that count as lying? I'll just say I didn't find anything.. That's still lying though.. Ugh I don't know I guess.. I have to tell her the truth. But what about her blushing? Her cuddling me? Was she just embarrassed and that's why she blushed? Did she just have so much adrenaline and fear she jumped and ran to the nearest person? I don't know.. I'll ask her soon though.
