When Everett got home, He immediately went upstairs to pack his belongings he would take to his dads. Once he finished packing, Everett went to the kitchen. A bright yellow notepad on the kitchen counter caught his eye.
Everett
I can’t pick you up since things are busy at the bar. I already asked your Grandpa to pick you up at around 2:30. From there he will take you to the house. I left you a key under the welcome mat so you can get in. Text me when you get home and are safe. I will bring home Pizza and wings for dinner.I’ll be home at around 5:30.
Dad

He was finally able to see his dad for the first time in weeks. Everett put the note in his pocket then went out to sit on the porch. It didn’t take long before he saw his grandpa’s pickup truck roll down the street. Everett hopped in the truck and they drove to his dad’s house. On the way they chatted about how life was going for Everett. He was careful not to reveal too much on how things were with his mom. After 15 min they arrived at his dad’s house. “Thanks for the ride!” He said as he hopped out of the truck. Everett found the key under the mat and let himself in. As he entered the house, a sudden feeling of relief fell over him, He was finally home. He went to his room and tossed his belongings onto his bed. Not having anything to do he started on his homework.
Everett didn’t have much except for his English class. Once Everett finished, He decided to head out for a walk to clear his head.  He walked to the park a few blocks away and found a place to sit under a tree. In the distance he heard the obnoxious sound of rap music growing steadily louder. As the music got louder, he saw people coming his way with a speaker. That sorry excuse for music gave him a headache.
He recognized who was coming. Xavier and Cameron, two people he despised. He quickly snuck behind the tree before he could be seen. An idea struck him, he took a rock half the size of his hand and chucked it as hard as he could at the speakers blasting that obnoxious noise. The rock hit the speakers with a “Crack!”
“What the hell! Who was that.”
Everett heard as he quickly hopped the fence into the neighborhood next to the park. He heard Xavier yell at Cameron. This put a smile on Everett’s face.  No one saw him jump the fence. ”They’re too stupid to figure out what happened.” he thought
It took him a few seonds to figure out where he was. Once Everett got his breath back, he got up onto his feet and walked home. Once he was home, Everett changed out of his day clothes and put on some sweatpants and crashed out on the couch and watched some TV.  His eyes got heavy and finally shut as he fell asleep.

There was a knock on the door. Everett’s eyes popped open. He threw his feet on the ground and got up. His head was foggy from exhaustion. As he opened the door he saw The town sherriff. “Sheriff baker?” he said puzzled. “ You Everett Ryder?” Everett paused “Yes, what is this about?”
“I need you to come with me to the station.”
