Amelia's P.O.V.
"Alright. Settle down. Everyone go back to their dorms. Ethan, Jessica, Zach, Mr. Coe, and Amelia stay here," Mrs. Eldridge said as the students filed by.
"Okay, so Ethan and Amelia. She was last spotted by the woods near where you two were when you were attempting to get the flag. Did you see anything?" she began to question us.
"Nope," we said in unison.
"You are free to go. You may need to be taken in for questioning later," she said, waving us off.
I walked off with Ethan. The curfew was a bit later so I decided to go on up with him to his room to hang out and maybe watch some Netflix.
"So do you like Benji?" he asked.
"It shouldn't matter. I can tell right now that you and I aren't mates. If we were, I would have known by now. Let's stay friends," I replied.
"You know you should be glad that I helped you back when you were drunk that one night at the party."
"I am glad for that. I am risking my free time for hanging out with you. Be happy."
A searing pain came through and my brain began to go in a frenzy. I thought that mind links weren't allowed. Right at the top of the steps where we were going to turn to go to the dorms I collapsed.
I felt horrible. Saliva built up in my mouth and before I knew it my lunch was all over the floor. I didn't feel good. The winning team was to get a feast, but I really wasn't up for it anymore.
The angel came up the steps as I wiped whatever was on my mouth off of it. His name had to be Zach.
"What happened?" he asked suddenly.
"She just collapsed after we argued a bit," I could barely hear Ethan's reply. My head hurt so badly that I began to cry. I felt a soft pair of arms lift me up.
"Don't cry little one," Zach said while smiling down at me.
"It just hurts," I w as a voice came through my thoughts. 'I'm going to kill her if you don't hurry up. One school year is all it will take. Tick tock, the time is running out,' the voice said and then stopped talking.
The searing pain stopped, but I was left with a nauseating headache. I felt bad again and leaned over in Zach's arms as more food came out of my mouth.
He took his hanker chief and dabbed at my lips. "It looks like tears won't help this internal injury. Here we go," he said and leaned down close to my face.
I began to freak out. Was this really how my first kiss was going to happen? And with an angel? Perry wouldn't believe it. Oh wait. Perry is dead. I knew I wasn't supposed to, but I began to cry. As I did this, his lips touched mine. The pain immediately went away and I felt as if I was floating on cloud nine. As I took in his scent, I felt better than before. His musky smell calmed my nerves. Is this what mates feel?
His voice brought me back to reality. "It takes a bit to recover so I'm taking you to the hospital wing. Next time, Ethan, don't argue," he said and left with me in his arms.
"Was that your first kiss?" He asked me.
"Y-yeah."
"Mine too. I'm glad it wasn't with a demon and it was with you. You are one of the more attractive people in this school. I mean Jessica is too, but you are very attractive. I knew I needed to help you so I decided my first kiss would be you. Sorry for stealing it," he said.
"Technically we stole each other's," I said as we arrived. He sat me down on the closest bed to the door.
"If you need anything just call. See you later."
"Wait. Tell Jessica where I am. She'll be missing me. At least we have free time. Can you tell Benji too?" I asked.
He nodded and left. I heard a familiar voice to the left of me say, "So we meet again."
When I looked up no one was there. I looked to my right and there he was. It was Damon the demon.
"What do you want?"
"You. More specifically your soul."
"Like hell am I giving you that."
"You will. Eventually. So how are you?"
"Considering I puked like three times and just got out of a killer headache pretty good," I said sarcastically.
"No need to be feisty. I broke my arm in the game," he held up his arm which was in a cast.
"You can heal that with a spell. You don't need a cast," I said, slipping the cast off of his wrist.
"Hey leave your hand there for a minute."
I stopped. My hand was right over his. As I looked into his eyes, I could only see the blackness and hatred of a demon. The room became blurry around the edges and I was becoming weak.
"Hey, Amelia. I came as quick as I could-" Jessica stopped mid sentence as she realized what was happening.
(( woohoo another chapter. Pic above this time is Zach.))
