She smiled happily but there's sadness in her eyes, he's not blind and numb. Hindi niya na ito tinanong at nag focus ng mag drive.

He was whistling to an unknown tone while swiftly steering the wheel of the taxi while leaning on the locked door's window, but to her he looks like a giant who hardly fits on the driver seat.

He's a good driver. Although the road was not even, Annika couldn't feel the bumps of the road unlike earlier.

After observing Matias' driving skills, Annika's attention went to her cellphone again. She's skimming through the comment section of Evan's status update. She can't help but feel hurt and conflicted. Before, Evan would avoid liking girls' comments on his profile pictures or posts, but now he's even replying to them. Annika knew that she no longer had the right to feel sad about that.

Annika turned her phone down.

She decides to look at the buildings, people, stalls and etcetera that they're passing by. The people look too happy, walking with their friends, family and lover.

Annika wishes she could do that again but for now, she won't.

Annika spared him a glance before looking back to where her eyes were. "Just about the future." A white lie.

The sides of her lips twitched, one of the things that the body does when a person is lying.

"Liar." he whispered under his breath while massaging his nape with his free hand.

Annika was taken aback, she is a self-proclaimed professional con man but Matias could see through her lies. She just gave him a tight smile then looked away.

It wasn't normal for Annika to be with another guy in a long period of time because she usually stuck with Evan. Matias' presence is not a bother but she can't help but look at him differently.

Matias looked at his wristwatch, hindi pa umaabot ng isang oras. Kahit na wala silang ginagawa ay hindi niya pa ito gustong iwan.

'Delikado kana,' sigaw ng utak niya. Palihim itong ngumisi bago tiningnan muli si Tia.

Natawa lang ang lalaki sa reaksiyon ni Annika.
