Chapter 54

"Are you sure you're ok?" my aunt asked as I drank the Advil pill she had gave me.

"Yes, I'm fine. It was just a dream, chill." I answered still rubbing my head that was pounding from that somewhat intense nightmare.

"It seemed like I really bad one, you were sweating when I went up to your room. What happened?" Marie asked.

"Nothing." I shook my head and I looked at my phone that was vibrating against the counter. I went over to check who was calling... it was Jc.

"Hello?" I answered.

"OH MY GOD MELISSA, WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU TODAY?!" Jc instantly shouted into my ear... I was utterly confused.

Keep in mind: I had only been awake for 30 minutes.

"Jc, what are you talking about?" I asked.

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED I WAS?!" he shouted once again.

"Jc, chill. What the hell is wrong, I'm so confused." I responded.

"I'm coming over." was all he said before hanging up.

"What?" I whispered as the call ended. "Marie, I'm confused."

"About?" she asked.

"Why is Jc worried?"

"Well, sweetie he is your best friend" she smiled.

How could that possibly be?

Is she crazy or something?

"I'm gonna go to my room... " I stated, as I confusedly went up to my room.

"Ok, I'll send Jc up when he gets here" she called out, as I turned and shot a smile, but then continued to think about what the hell was going on.

I went to my room and flopped onto my bed. I thought and thought and nothing. I checked the clock 7:43 PM... ok.

I thought and thought...

I got nothing.

Then, I decided to just go on YouTube. It was weird though, because... I had no videos whatsoever.

A sudden opening of a door caught my ear and I heard Jc saying something along the lines of "Hi Ms. Moreo. Can I see Melissa?"

I shut off my computer and I could hear Marie say "She's upstairs, but be easy on her. She's been acting weird ever since she woke up."

Before I knew it, Jc was through my bedroom door. He slowly closed the door assuming, I guess, that I fell asleep again or something. I sat up and looked at him confused.

"Oh, you're awake" he shyly smiled.

"Yeah..." I suspiciously responded.

"You ok?" he asked, still holding that smile of his.

"...Are you ok?" I squinted my eyes, still confused.

"Well, I haven't seen you all day... and you didn't answer any of my calls or texts today. I was worried I was waiting for you to come out in the morning for like an hour" Jc stated.

"Why? I don't think I was supposed to answer you, no offense..." yes, I am confused. Nevertheless, I kept talking.

"And can I know why?" his smile suddenly fading to a somewhat frown.

"Wow, you don't even know. Some man you are" I rolled my eyes.

"I have no idea what you are talking about... and I'm kind of worried. Please explain, Melissa."
