"Join us. Join the Fatui."

You had expected this, but still were overtaken by slight shock. Scanning the room, eyes wandered everywhere but the beautiful woman who stood before you with a life changing proposal. Out of a nervous habit, you began to bite the inside of your cheek.

Composing yourself after an episode of slight disbelief, you spoke, "'Join the Fatui', hmm... Say I do accept the request, what exactly would be my task? My status? Though my identity is concealed to most, I still have a reputation to uphold."

Signora laughed. You couldn't quite grasp what was so funny, so you just stood there. Sharp eyes scanned her being.

"Darling darling... no need to be so serious. We are at a party after all! But I do suppose I should answer your rather curious and specific questions." Signora said.

Picking up a glass and pouring what you assumed to be wine, she hummed and seemed to be in deep thought. You could tell she was trying to organize her thoughts in hopes of keeping up her walls and not revealing too much. After all, this is your first meeting with each other. Dare I say that I too wouldn't trust myself right away.

She studied the glass, watching the red liquid swish around. A crimson tornado grew in the glass, much alike to the one that would soon grow in your heart. Structured, controlled, yet destructive.

Her eyes snapped up to meet your e/c ones. It was a little too sudden for your liking, but you shook it off. You gave a slight nod of approval, signaling her to continue and explain.

"As for what your task is, that would be to assist a fellow Harbinger of mine. Oh how I wish you could assist me, but I suppose you do seem suited to assist him." She explained.

'Him'

Him? You furrowed your eyebrows as your mind began to ponder over which harbinger she may be referring to.

Signora coughed slightly, bringing you out of your thoughts. Taking a sip from her glass and placing it back onto the table, she continued, "Though I do feel the need to tell you that this will be no easy task. He's a stubborn one, and is very precise. A dangerous one he is... definitely the most unruly out of the 11 of us. He's a rather cold person and doesn't open up much to anyone. I wonder how long he can keep up this front that he presents? What will make him crack? Or, perhaps who can make him crack?"

"Him? Childe? No it couldn't be. Though he may be slightly unhinged, he doesn't exactly fit the description." You thought to yourself.

She looked over at you, scanning you up and down with a smirk.

With a mischievous smile, she spoke, "You. Perhaps you can, or rather will, be that something that makes him crack."

You scoffed and slightly rolled your eyes. Letting out a big sigh, you began to think of the pros and cons of the entire situation. In a sense, this was a huge honor. You had been scouted by a Harbinger herself due to seeming fit to serve her comrade.

Guess you were more well known for your work than you thought.

Everything in you was screaming at you to accept the proposal, but from what Signora had told you about your future boss was a bit troubling. But you were who you were, and you lived for the thrill. Sure the Harbinger in discussion seemed a bit cruel, but that wasn't going to stop you. You would be sure to put him in his place if he ever dared to cross you despite the difference in status. He will fear your blade.

"Fuck it." You thought.

Having already known the outcome of your decision, you couldn't help but feel the need to pry for more information.

"So what's in it for me?" You asked bluntly.

Signora only laughed in response. Her velvety voice rang through your ears and echoed off the walls of the small private room.

"All necessities will be supplied by the Fatui. Housing, meals... and you'll even be paid. The only worry you will ever have is the well-being of the Harbinger in which you serve." She explained.

You smirked in approval, happy to have heard the riches in which were your side of the bargain.

"I accept." You stated. Signora smiled in approval, appeased by your decision.

As she began to rise from her seat, you stepped forward confidently and said, "But I do have one last question. 'Him.' Who is the Harbinger in which I will soon serve? I humbly ask for my Lord's name."

Reaching for the bottle of wine to refill her glass, she only silently sat back down. Giving a slight hum, she leaned back in her chair. Relaxing into the velvet chair, she closed her eyes and said, "The Balladeer."

"You will be serving the Balladeer."
