It had been 6 months since I last saw Michael. I've had no contact with him since the night of my birthday where I let myself out of his flat. These past 6 months have been the worst time of my life.
My parents were on my case constantly.
"You're 19! You shouldn't be living with us you should have your own life, go out and get a job then you an finally leave and stop being a burden on this house" my mother ranted.
I knew thy wanted me out as soon as possible, they hated me, they never cared about me even when I was young. They would leave me alone for weeks sometimes even a month at the ages 10 upwards. Great parenting right? I guess you could say I never had a childhood.
If I could move out of hear trust me I would it's just I really can't find a job, no one seems to want to hire me. Maybe it's because I still live with my parents but who knows. I have a job interview in a few days for the local bar maybe if I got the job I could finally move and just be able to afford rent for a small apartment.
"As soon as you find a job you're out okay?" My father said sternly as they left for work again.

Great. Even if I get the job I'm not actually going to be able to afford to move straight away. Where the hell would I go?
Oh well, I'd think about it when it came to it.
................................................................................................
I was nervous. I was so hoping that this interview would go successfully and I could do something with my life. Even if it was just a small step.
"Hey!" The owner of the bar said casually as I walked in.
"Hi" I said. Crap you should have said hello not hi you unprofessional idiot.
"How old are you?" He asked while he was wiping down the surface of the bar area.
"19" I answered
"Wait, you are here for the job right?"
"Yep" I smiled
"Good you've got it, when can you start?" He said surprising me.
"Wait? You mean that was it? I got the job?"
"Yeah if you want it" he smirked
"Of course i want it oh my gosh thank you so much!" I squealed in delight.
"No problem, can you start Monday?" He asked
"Sure see you then" I said happily.
"Bye"
I basically skipped from joy all the way home. I figured if I waited about a month to tell my parents I got a job, I would save enough money to afford the rent on an apartment for a few months.
Finally my life was taking a turn for the good. Or so I thought.
It was Monday, the first day of my new job. I made sure to get here early and I was greeted by the owner as he showed me around and how to use all to the beer pumps and etc.
I had been here for about 2 hours and it was now 8pm, a few customers were sitting around tables by themselves or with their mates, a few people were in the corner playing darts and two people were having an intense game of snooker.
I enjoyed watching people from behind the bar as they interacted with each other so casually. My mind wandered to what it would be like if I had friends I could be comfortable around . But I didn't have friends. Sad I know.
Obnoxious laughter made my head snap up to the door as six young people walked in four boys and two girls. Immediately I recognised the four boys. Luke was leading the group to the bar his hair in the normal blonde quiff it always was and his eyes still the piercing blue they had always been.
It's as if I had expected them all to have changed. I'm guessing one of the girls was Calum's girlfriend as they were holding hands. Calum looked exactly the same just a tad taller but not as tall as Luke.
My eyes moved to Ashton who also looked the same, his eyes caught mine and he smiled widely which I returned, none of the others had noticed me yet.
Lastly, my eyes trained in on him. His hair was now a different colour red and black. He had in his favourite checked red and black top on with his signature skinny black jeans and black vans.
The other girl was attached to him. She was hanging off his arm not being as subtle as Calum's girlfriend. I could see Michael push her off a bit as I knew he hated clingy people.
Before I knew it they had all taken seats in front of the bar. Luke caught my attention by waving me over.
"Hey Y/N! Didn't know you worked here!" He said cheerily
"Hey, it's my first day today actually, anyway what can I get you?" I asked smiling as I was genuinely happy to see some familiar faces.
"Um,just 4 pints and 2 glasses of whatever wine girls drink" he said.
I let out a laugh at his cluelessness gaining the attention of all the other boys.
"Y/N!" Calum said standing up "since when have you worked here?" He said reaching over the bar to give me a hug.
"Since today I guess" I said chuckling
" well it's good to see you! You look great"
"Thank you, how have you all been?" I asked politely.
I received a series of good and greats as I nodded in acknowledgement. I refused to look at Michael the whole time but I could feel his stare burning into me while I got there drinks. It was making me nervous and my hands were shaking causing me to accidentally drop a glass of wine over the girl sitting practically on top of Michael.
My eyes went wide as she screamed and swore loudly gaining everybody in the rooms attention. I blushed and my cheeks were burning as I scrambled to find a cloth to try and help get the spillage off of her. The boys were all chuckling as she was still screaming.
"I'm so sorry" I rushed out for about the one millionth time.
"You are so going to regret this" she mumbled storming out of the bar dramatically.
The boys including Michael were still laughing their heads off Luke and Ashton even had tears falling down their faces.
"Shut up guys it wasn't funny my managers going to kill me and I'll probably get sacked!" I said angrily.
"First day and you're already causing drama" the owner said coming up behind me, he sounded so serious that my lips started trembling as I knew he would probably sack me.
"I think I'll keep you around" he winked
I let out a sigh if relief as I could breathe properly now.
"Ooooooh, someone likes you!" Ashton whistled
"Shut up" I blushed
I was pretty blessed as the owner of this place aka my manager was a young man in his twenties who was pretty hot and a good bit of eye candy I would get to look at 5 days out of the 7.
The boys were all laughing and joking about him now saying how we were so going to 'get together'. Michael's jaw was clenching tighter with every word they said and he was holding his glass so tightly I thought it would break.
I made eye contact with him for the first time and I knew it was a mistake.
"At least she got rid of Michael's girlfriend we can actually have a decent conversation now" I heard one of the boys say which made my head snap round. Girlfriend? Michael had a girlfriend?
What happened to him not being the type for commitment.
Maybe he had changed in the 6 months I hadn't seen him. Maybe he learned to love once I was out of his life.
Michael's pov.
I was sitting on my bed, face in hands as I thought back to just a few hours ago. The rain was harshly hitting the window pane proving the only noise in the flat. Seeing her there sparked something within me. I didn't like that she was moving on. But at least she was doing something now and would be internally grateful to her manager for giving her a job. She really needed one, just to reassure her she can do something. But I also hated her manager. I didn't like the way he looked at her. The way he left small touches in her back every time they passed one another behind the bar. I knew I shouldn't be feeling like this. I could have had her If I wanted. It was probably to late now. I had a girlfriend anyway. I chuckled remembering the way she accidentally flung a glass of wine all over her. I know I probably should have gone after my girlfriend but I was laughing to much at the event. I didn't love my girlfriend, I wasn't faithful to her but since Y/N left I needed a new booty call one who wouldn't fall in love with me and one who I couldn't hurt. I only asked her to come to the bar with me tonight so I could go home and fuck her, but I have no idea where she went but i don't care anymore.
I was brought back into reality when a small barley audible over the rain knock on the door sounded. I stood confused as to who would be here at this time of the night.
Opening the door I saw a silhouette with their hood up to dark to see their face. They were shaking and had a big black bin liner clenched tightly in their hands.
The person took their hood off and I was faced with a year stain faced Y/N.
"Can I come in?" She asked hopefully.
"If course, hurry up you'll freeze" I said pulling her into the warmth of the flat. " what happened?" I asked curiously.
"My- my parents kicked me out" she said sniffling as a few tears fell down her cheeks.
"Come here" I said pulling her into a comforting warm hug.
"You need to get changed!" I said "have you get clothes with you?" I asked
She shook her head. " I do but they're wet, I got back from work and they had locked me out all my stuff was in this bag on the d-door step. I'm sorry, I don't know why I came here, i-it's just I have no one else" she sobbed heartbreakingly.
"Hey it's okay" I soothed "you can stay here for as long as you want alright?" Of course I would let her stay here. She was a friend, and I wouldn't let her get hurt again. It was the least I could do.
"Thank you" she said holding onto me tighter.
"Come on let's get you changed" I said pulling her up stairs to my bedroom where she had spent countless nights here in the past. But this time it was different. I wasn't going to hurt her I was going to help her.
"Do you want a bath?" I asked "or a shower?"
She nodded so I decided to run her a hot bath with tons of bubbles.
"I'll leave you to it" I whispered about to leave until one of her small hands wrapped softly around my wrist.
"Please stay" she whispered
"Are you sure?" I asked
She nodded before shakily stripping off her wet clothes. I watched on admiration as I had forgotten how beautiful she was. She stepped towards me shredding me of my clothes and pulling me towards the bath tub. Stepping into the warm bath we sat facing each other just watching one another for a few minutes before I wet a flannel bringing it up to her face which was now regaining some of it's natural colour. I dabbed it in her cheeks pressing it against her forehead making her moan at the heat and making her lean her head further into my hand.
After spending half an hour in the bath if began to turn cold so j stepped out first finding two towels wrapping one around me and helping Y/N out of the bath and into her towel. Throwing some track suit bottoms and a top on, I threw her some leggings she had left here over a year ago and one if my hoodies which came down to her knees making her look adorable.
I climbed into bed pulling the covers right back expecting her to join me.
"Where should I sleep?" She asked timidly.
I patted the space beside me. "Next to me" I said
"I can't, you have a girlfriend" she mumbled
"Trust me it's not what you think come on" I encouraged
She gave up crawling next to me as I pulled her close as if she was still cold from earlier.
