Stay With Me | Charlie Gillespie

Prologue

6 years ago...... they're 11 years old

"Charlie, this is Daisy, she lives next-door." Charlies mom, Jeanette, introduced.

Charlie and the Gillespie's had just moved in next-door to Daisy and her family two weeks ago. Charlie had seen Daisy helping her dad finish building a treehouse in her backyard, he watched from his bedroom window as the girl went from her house to the treehouse carrying items to decorate her space for about a week she was out there, rain, hail or shine decorating her treehouse with her mom and dad.

"Hi Daisy, I like your treehouse." Charlie says, holding out his hand to the young girl with a big kind of goofy smile on his face, all Daisy knew was that he made her heart twirl. He was her first crush and she was his. Charlies mom left the two in Daisy's backyard and returned to her own.

"Really? You can come see it if you want! We could watch a movie or something!" Daisy exclaims, Charlie noticed the small things about her that overtime became his absolute things, they became the thing that comforted him the most when he was in need of a hug or to be told that it was going to be okay.

"Sure, I'll just ask my mom, stay here."

Daisy did exactly that, she stood right there waiting while Charlie was inside talking to his mom about his little Daisy, a giant smile plastered on his face while he gushed about her smile and her eyes and how perfect he thought her hair was. Oh god he thought she was beautiful. The next thing she knew he was running towards her smiling,

"She said I can stay and also said that she was talking to my friends parents and my friends think your cool and wanna meet you."

"Well my mom put a landline phone in my treehouse you can call them on there if you want, we could have a super awesome movie sleepover."

"Pizza?"

"Definitely"

The two were inseparable, all through middle school and into high school Daisy and Charlie were best friends. They had other friends too; Daisy's twin brother Owen, Jeremy and his crush Carolynn. Even though Owen and Daisy are twins technically Owen is 7 minutes older and seemingly lords that over her head 98% of the time.

Charlie and Daisy have a strange relationship. Totally unaware of each others growing feelings for the other even though everyone else find it abundantly clear and almost scarily obvious overtime that they very clearly liked each other. So in the years of miscommunication they both reluctantly tried to move on, inevitably hurting each other more.
