When Rory fell asleep, she saw Carlos standing in front of her.

"Hello, Rory. I see you've found them?"

"Oh, yeah! They're really nice. You should meet them when I bring them back!" Rory said exitedly forgetting that she was in a dream.

"...Yeah I will. But first, I need to make sure of something."

  "Ooh ok! What is it?"

"I need to make sure you actually bring them back-"

"Pfft of course i'm going to bring them back!"

"No!" Carlos raised his voice. "I mean, you have to bring them back. No matter what any of your family members say. Even Sage."

  Rory shrugged. "Well duh!"

"Okay good, I have to go now. Bye."

Carlos faded away and Rory woke up in her room. I have to go tell Sage! Rory slipped her shoes and quietly snuck out her window and made her way to Sages house.

But little did she know, Carlos was paying Sage a visit as well.

*Sages pov*

Sage took a couple steps back when a man similar to Rorys dad appeared in front of them.

  "Who are you..?"

"I'm Carlos. I'm guessing you've heard of me?"

"Oh, yeah! Rory mentioned you. Are you going to tell me about Mirabel and Bruno?"

"Yes and no. You can't bring them back."

"Why not?" Sage questioned. "Isn't that what we're supposed to do?"

"No. It will ruin the whole village."

And with that he faded away.

  *back to rorys pov*

Rory finally made it to Sages house and tapped on his window.

"We have to stop bringing them back." Sage said.

  "What why?"

"We just can't! It will mess everything up."

"But you said you'd help me? Why are you changing  your mind now!"

"Because what you're trying to do is wrong!" Sage snapped and shut the window on Rory. Of course they felt bad for doing so, but Carlos said it was the right thing to do.

Rory, confused and hurt by her friends sudden change of attitude ran back home.

And Carlos, who had seen the whole thing go down smiled. My work here is done.

When Rory got home, she climbed up into her window and flipped down on her bed. This time she couldn't fall asleep and stared at the ceiling all night.
