To think it all started with a murder attempt...

Lilac Cookie was once an assassin for hire, killing targets for a healthy sum of gold coins and on rare occasions, crystals. But one target lead him the rethink his choices, he was tasked with killing a Yogurcan Noble named Yogurt Cream Cookie, the payout was more gold and crystal than he could ever need in his life, but when he got to his target, however, Lilac couldn't find it in himself to kill him. He dropped out of the assassin job and instead became Yogurt Cream's bodyguard, this relationship eventually developed into becoming friends with him, then a crush, then a full-fledged romance. Five short years after Yogurt Cream was set to die by Lilac's blade, the two were married, the ultimate culmination of their relationship was a burning night of passion on their honeymoon.

Or so they thought...

A month had passed since the wedding, and Lilac felt strange, every morning when he got up, he felt like vomiting, he had chalked it up to minor food poisoning, a just-too-old jelly he ate at the banquet... Or maybe it was the strange things he was eating since the honeymoon ended, bizarre combinations of food that ordinarily he'd find disgusting and inedible, but devoured eagerly when given the chance nowadays, that also might explain the weight he's gained over the past week. Another thing that shocked him was a shift in behavior, he's usually a calm, soft-spoken Cookie, but since that night, he can be cuddly one moment, enraged the next, and sobbing yet another. He wasn't the only one concerned about these happenings, his beloved husband and former target was watching it all unfold before his eyes, and one day, he'd had enough of playing spectator and decided to sit down with Lilac and talk about it...

"Lilac dear, you need to see a doctor about your condition... I'm worried it's something serious" Yogurt Cream said in a sincere tone of voice, looking Lilac directly in the eyes
"I've told you a thousand times, honey, I'm fine..." Lilac said through a long sigh, arms crossed "It's just an upset stomach."
"An upset stomach doesn't last a month and lead to fits of anger followed by sobbing, there's a real chance you could be VERY sick, Lilac Cookie." Yogurt said in a sterner tone. "If this goes on any longer, I'm taking you there myself!"
Lilac rubbed his face and let out a long sigh. "Alright, I'll go in the morning if it'll get you to shut up about it."
The look on Yogurt Cream's face lightened slightly as he patted Lilac on the shoulder. "I'd prefer if you went sooner... But I'll settle with this."

The next morning, Lilac went to a medical expert and explained what was going on exactly, down to the letter, the doctor ran a few tests and took a jam sample before sending Lilac on his way, saying they'd have results by the following day at least. The day felt like a week to both of the worried men, anxiously waiting for the call. By noon the day after, the phone rang and Lilac had answered it almost immediately.

"Hello, this is Lilac speaking...'
"What...?
"N-no, I heard you but... How is that even possible...?"
"............."

Yogurt Cream only heard Lilac's side of the conversation, and the look of relief slowly morphed into one of extreme worry. Lilac hung the phone up, clasped his hands together, and took in a deep breath before looking at his husband

"Well, good news... It's not something serious." Lilac said resting his hands on his stomach.
Yogurt's expression didn't change, still extremely worried. "W-what did they say... What's going on with you dear?"
"Well, they were just as surprised to find out as I was to hear it, what I'm about to say is likely going to surprise you even more... Are you sure you want to hear the words I am about to say?"
"Yes, please just tell me, the suspense is like a knife in the heart!" Yogurt Cream said franticly, grasping Lilac's shoulders and shaking him
"Honey..." Lilac paused, taking in the deepest breath he could before uttering two words he never thought would leave his mouth
"I'm Pregnant..."
.
..
...
....
"YOU'RE WHAT?!"

Seven months later, in the same room that fateful call came in, Lilac Cookie was sitting down, caressing his swollen stomach, inside his body was the future of his new family. A warm smile was on his face with his eyes closed, suddenly a jolt of movement from the inside caused him to open them and look down at his belly. The developing child within him had kicked as it had many times before, but the feeling is always unexpected for a first-time parent, he tenderly rubbed the area he felt his offspring's foot land as Yogurt Cream walked in from another room.

"Evening sweethearts~" He said before lightly smooching Lilac's cheek and sitting down. "How are you two doing?"
Lilac smiled. "We're doing just fine, dear. Seems like they needed to stretch a bit." Another kick appeared on the tightly stretched surface of his baby bump. "Hmph. Seems like they want to see someone." Lilac motioned for his husband to lay his head down on him, and Yogurt obliged.
Resting his ear to Lilac's belly, Yogurt Cream could hear the faint heartbeat of his son or daughter before another light shove from the inside brushed his cheek. "Oh my, so strong already, and they still have a month to grow in there!" He said while positively beaming at the thought of becoming a father.
Lilac closed his eyes and chuckled. "I still remember when I first felt them move inside me, faint and gentle, like the desert breeze~"
Hearing that, Yogurt Cream's eyes shot open in excitement. 'LILAC, I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!"
"Figured what out?" Lilac replied, surprised at his mate's sudden burst of energy.
"The name of our child, dear~" Laying a hand on Lilac's belly, he spoke confidently. "From this day on, the next heir to the Yogurcan throne shall be called Desert Flower Cookie!"
Looking down at his husband's hand, the name he spoke echoed in his head, and the more the thought, the more he liked it. "Desert Flower Cookie... It's perfect...!"
Lilac leaned in to kiss Yogurt Cream on the lips. As the sun set, standing on the balcony just outside of the bedroom, the expecting cookie looked down at his big belly one last time before laying down for the night and spoke directly to the child inside of him.

"Rest well, my little Desert Flower... The day I finally see your face will be the best day of my life~"
