Heartless - The Weeknd
"I don't do well when alone, you hear it clearly in my tone
Cause I'm heartless, and I'm back to my ways cause I'm heartless."

A loud ringing noise caused Rosa to lift her head up slightly feeling stiffness in her neck. She open her groggy eyes and looked around her blurry surroundings. She was laying flat on her stomach on the couch in her living room. Rosa turned to look at the floor and beside the couch laid a very passed out Seth and to the right on the love seat where a passed out Jessica and Marcus. Rosa eyed that curiously and made a mental note to ask Jess about it later.

She quickly reached to grabbed her cell phone to turn off the alarm for work not wanting to wake the three of them up. Rosa had a shift at the bookstore at 08:30 hours. They were only open half day during the weekend in case students were in need of something or wanted to study at the cafe inside.

Rosa sat up stretching her arms while yawning. Last night ended in a very drunken night over a lacrosse win. But for the first time, in a long time, she felt like herself again. Her hunger for blood was well in control last night around all her friends and twin. A part of her couldn't help but wonder if it was all thanks to Kai Parker. She had no desire for anyone else's blood on impulse but his now. She smiled to herself.

Rosa decided to walk to work that morning since it was only a couple blocks down from her apartment instead of using Alejandro's car. She loved the walks to campus. The red brick path way was created for students to walk from her apartment complex towards the campus. The path way was lined up with old oak trees covering every inch. The branches from the trees above crossed over intertwining with each other.

The small breeze hitting cause Rosa to zip up her black coat. She let out a small breath seeing the condensation form in the air. Rosa was fascinated by the mist created from her breathe never really being able to experience during the California winters.

Rosa was the only one on shift this morning until 10:00 hours when the barista came in to maintain the coffee shop inside the bookstore. The bookstore didn't open until 09:00 hours but she had to be there earlier to prep for the opening. She slid her red work apron over her head and patted it down against her stomach to make sure there were no creases. Rosa walked towards the full body mirror on the wall and runs her fingers through her wavy chestnut hair. She began working on a French braid. After she was done, she smooths out her apron once again and checks to make sure no hairs were sticking out of place.

When it came to her looks, Rosa was a bit of a perfectionist. She always had to have her red lips stick applied and her hair done. "La forma en que te presentas, es todo" their mother always told the twins. The way the twins presented and conduct themselves was always important to the Valencia twins. It was not taken lightly within their massive family especially from their abuela, the matriarch, head of their family from their mothers side. Rosa was offended scolded as a child for not behaving more feminine like. The Valencia female was always chasing after her twin brother wanting to do everything he did. Later she learned rather quickly to adapt and become a more acceptable young lady in their Hispanic household. But, with a family business like theirs, it was hard to maintain. Her abuela pushed all the negativity from family members for Rosa to be raised as a housewife and instead involved her in the strict tough family business of theirs. Their abuela involved the twins at a very young age praising them that they'll be the best yet.
