Her silky hair, dancing in the air with the wind blowing. Her smile makes everything around her glow as bright as the sky. I can't imagine a more perfect picture than this.

That picture looked exactly the same way I saw it for the first time. Ten years ago, I woke up under a tree in an open field. I can hear someone sobbing from the other side of the tree.

"Why are you crying?"

"My friends said they hated me because they said I was annoying to them and I was weird."

She cried even more describing her memories with them and the way she recalled her past was painful. I even felt her emotions in those memories. I wanted to cheer her up since she looked like she was in desperate need of it.

"Well, at the very least, what you told me helped me see that you aren't weird at all."

She looked up at me and her tears stopped.

"Really? You don't think I'm weird at all?", she asked.

"Yeah. If you want, I can be your new friend!"

Her frown turned into a smile. She got up and hugged me. She looked up to me once again.

"Are you sure?! Do you really want to be friends with me?"

"Yeah! I don't even have friends myself so I guess I wanna have friends too."

"Yeah! Let's be friends!"

Her happiness overcame her sadness. We would always go to the open field to play and talk about our day. We both had fun having each other around.

"Hey Ethan."

"Yeah, Sophie?"

"Promise me that we'll be friends forever and we'll be there for each other."

"Alright. I promise I won't forget."

She smiled as the breeze blew and her hair danced through the air. That was the first time I saw everything around us glow.

Ten Years have passed and we still do everything together. We went to the same middle school, and now, where in high school. We became friends with Joana, Zach, Michael, Kalie, Conan. It turns out, Michael and Joana were actually childhood friends and they're dating. We would invite them to the open field Sophie and I would always meet up. Everyday, we would walk home together, hang out in the field, and go out together. The days passed and Christmas was on my doorstep.

"Hey, Michael."

"Yeah, Ethan?

"Yo, can I ask how you end up dating Joana?"

"Why? You gonna ask someone out?"

" Maybe, maybe not."

"Hmm...."

"Let's just see what happens when you do. Anyway, It happened the day we saw the results of the entrance exams."

"What happened?"
