of your buried pains

Of your buried pains,
that leak through the facade of your face.
Of the torments, the anguish,
and the endless rains.
Of the dying soldier you are,
striving to rise again.
Of the battles won,
and the battles lost.
At the end of dawn,
you find no one to speak your gains.

What soldier you are?
You do not cry!
Fear and pain not your enemies,
but the very people,
you walked with in the rains.

You want to leave the fight,
never to return again.
But duty keeps tugging you back,
and now you are in this torment
Where to from here?

Love, duty and loyalty are really just names,
but to see them through life,
and the sacrifices you have made.
Of the fallen warrior you are
Born to rise again!

The great unravelling of your life
may not begun of late.
You fail to see the dots
that draw you to the rains.
Hopelessness and despair
are not the end.

So arise! O Soldier!
Arise to fight again!
Go walk the rain!
Go make your name!
