It is one rainy day in Harlem, New York. Rain kept falling, and thunder roaring like the roaring of a lion.I'm just getting home from a late orchestra practice for my concert.
Orchestra practice was so boring that I just wanted to just fall asleep. My conductor Mr. Neils just kept conducting the violins more than the cellos. My best friend Samantha told me that I was playing a fast part to slow, but I kept telling her to shut up.
I'm just a normal girl that doesn't have big dreams like everyone does. I'm a junior in high school and don't know what to do in life.
Maria walks in the rain with her cello on her back wearing black pants and a plaid shirt. Her hair is the color of autumn leaves. She walks to her house door and walks in to greet her mother. " Maria !" Shouted her mother. "Yeah ?" Maria yelled back. "How was practice?" She yelled while putting a cake into the oven. " It was boring ,"while walking to the kitchen. " Maria, I told you, you need to give this music class a chance. You never know if you like it until you try it. Just give it a chance,"her mother pleaded. " Fine, I will try it but, if I don't like it , can I just
Quit this music thing?" Maria questioned. " I guess you can dear. I'm not trying to push you or anything, but I just want you to get involved in something that can probably lead you to a better future,"Mother said. " I know mom but, I don't think I'm meant to be a musician. I feel like I'm meant to be something else,"Maria said. "Then tell me, what do you want to do in life? " Her mother asked. "I don't know mother, I really don't know what I want to do in life,"Maria said. " Honey, you need to decide now. remember, you are a junior! How are you going to go to college and don't know what to do in afterlife? " Her mother shouted."Mother,I just need time, I need time to think about it! " Maria shouted back. "Maria, you've already had time to think about it. You just never decided,"Mother said. " I just don't think that I'm ready for my future!" Maria shouted. " You know what I'm just gonna go somewhere, some place where I won't have to think about my future!" Maria shouted while grabbing her cello and walking to the door. "Maria, if you walk out this door, you will be grounded!" Mother yelled. Soon as her mother finished her sentence, Maria was already closing the door.
