Long Lost (Niall Horan Short Story)

Prologue

Katie's POV

I ran as fast as I could. I needed to get out of there. I could still hear their footsteps behind me. I slipped into an ally way and hid behind a big trashcan. I could here the voices.

"I'm sure I saw go in here" One of my kidnappers whispered.

"Are you stupid? She's way to scared to go in there!" The other one whispered. The footsteps faded. Thank god. They're gone. To tell you the truth I was really scared in here. I mean what if somebody comes? Well my life couldn't get worse than what it was before. I shuddered. It was a cold night. Not to forget I was wearing Jean shorts and a tank top. I wish I had more on. I pulled my knees to my chest and closed my eyes tightly. Tears escaped my eyes as I drifted in to a deep sleep.

Niall's POV

I was walking around my town with out care in the world. But then I saw a girl wearing nothing but shorts and a tank top curled up in an alleyway sleeping. I walked closer to her. She looked about my age, 14. I started to shake her awake.

"Hey, are you okay?" I said. Her eyes fluttered open to show the most beautiful pair of blue eyes. She saw me and sat up and crawled backwards until her back hit the wall. I crawled towards her. I saw fear in her eyes.

"I won't hurt you, I'm Niall by the way." I added. Her eyes calmed. She looked too cute with her brown hair completely messy and sticking out in every direction.

"I-I'm Katie." She stuttered.

"Why are you sleeping here?" I asked. Her eyes filled with tears.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to" I said.

She just got up and started running. I followed her. When she stopped we were at a cliff. She stood on the edge and whispered,"Goodbye Louis, Goodbye mummy, Goodbye world" the she stepped closer to the edge.

My eyes widened. I ran up behind her. She prepared to take her final step. I grabbed her around the waist before she could go any further. I pulled her on to the ground. She turned around and saw me.

"Niall what was that for!" she yelled at me. "What do you mean?" I replied with a little bit of anger in my voice.  

"You pulled me back!" she yelled. I was a little taken back.

"I don't know if you noticed but I just saved your life without me you would be dead right now!" I yelled back. She looked at me with anger in her eyes.

"That was the point Niall I was to kill myself!" she yelled back at me.

"Why? Why would you want to do that?" I asked her. Out of nowhere she broke out crying. I pulled her in for a hug. She cried into my shirt.

"Niall can I trust you?" she asked. I nodded my head. She sighed then took a deep breath.

"I was kidnapped and taken way from my family about a year ago. Then I was brought to Ireland. After a year of being torched I ran away. I never got raped which is good but the reason I ran away was becasue they were trying to rape me and I just couldn't take it anymore so I ran away I slept in an ally where you found me and the rest well you saw." she said. I hugged her and she hugged back.

She pulled back and looked at my shirt and said, "Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry about your shirt." I shook my head and looked her in the eyes and said, "Katie do you want to stay with me? You can stay as long as you need." She smiled and nodded her head. We stood up and I grabbed her hand and intertwined our fingers.

We walked for a while then we reached my house. I unlocked the door and walked in. My mum walked up and saw Katie. She smiled and said "Nialler honey, who's this? Is she your girlfriend?" I turned a bright red and looked down at the floor. Katie giggled. I then let go of Katie’s hand and looked at my mum.

"This is Katie. She hasn't got a place to stay so I offered for her to stay with us for awhile." I said still bright red. My mum giggled and said, "Okay Katie, Niall will show you to his room. I'm afraid you to will have to share a room. If that's okay with you, honey." Katie nodded and we started walking away. Katie followed me. We went into my room and I said, "This is our room from now on." She smiled
