Chapter 11- the bathrooms

-Ranboo POV-

I wanted to forgive Tubbo, I really did. But he really hurt my feelings so I'm not sure if I should... He asked to talk during the short break in the bathrooms so that's where I went. I leaned against the wall and waited for Tubbo to come. Just as I thought he wouldn't show up the door opened.

"Oh gosh Ranboo, I'm so so sorry I'm late! I had to do a test and it was really difficult and the teacher refused to answer my-" "It's okay," I smiled, he's so incredibly adorable. "It is?" He asked and I nodded. He sighs relieved and let himself sink down against the wall. "So, that thing yesterday..." I started, "I didn't mean what I said, I was just trying to get them to leave you alone." Tubbo answered. "Yeah they did leave me alone, but you left me all alone too. When you showed up at the game I finally felt like someone cared about me, so when you left it really did hurt." I told him. Usually I'm never that honest about my feelings towards others, but something about Tubbo told me it was okay.

His eyes looked at me with sadness, "Ranboo... I'm so fucking sorry I made you feel that way. I just kinda- I don't know... panicked? I really enjoy your company but I'm kinda scared of how Tommy and Dream would react to our... friendship." He looked at the floor. The fact that he 'really enjoys my company' gave me a warm feeling inside, but he also said he's scared of how Tommy and Dream would react to us. Is he ashamed of me? Was he lying about the first part?

I looked at him and he seemed lost in thoughts. "Are you... ashamed of me?" I asked carefully. His head shot slightly up and he looked at me for a few seconds, like he was calculating his answer. "I- Ranboo, I really really like you, trust me. It's just- just- you have this 'reputation' going on and I'm scared of how people will treat me if they find out I'm hanging out with you." He explained, "At the moment people respect me and-" "And you don't want the same treatment as me..." I completed his sentence with a sad tone, "if people see you hanging out with me they'll also make up lies about your life and you don't want that, I get it, I don't want this treatment either. If you really don't want to hang out anymore I'll just go away." I felt tears sting in my eyes, why does this stuff always have to happen to me? Why can't I just have a good time for a while? Then Tubbo took my arm "Don't leave. Please... I still want us to be friends, it's just- we'll have to keep it hidden from my friends until I think they're ready"

At that moment I felt so much emotion at once, it had all been building up inside. The tears were starting to spill out of my eyes, usually I'm alone when I cry so without much thought I took off my glasses. Then I heard Tubbo gasp besides me, I try to put the glasses back on but he stopped me.

-Tubbo POV-

Ranboo took off his glasses and I took a quick glance at him. My eyes were shortly after glued onto his, he tried to put his glasses back on when he noticed me staring but I stopped him. I felt my heartbeat sped up like I had an exam next hour. "Your eyes... they're so pretty. They're so interesting, I could get lost in there for hours. Why would you ever hide them?" He laughed at my remark. "Well my dad says they're ugly, that my whole face is ugly. He doesn't want to see it so I assumed everyone thought that" He now looked straight into my eyes and we sat like that for only a few seconds but it felt like ages.

Then the bell rung. Ranboo put his glasses back on and I grabbed my bag. Before we left the bathrooms I grabbed his waist and pulled him into a hug. He was startled and confused at first but soon melted into the hug and returned it.
