I looked at my alarm clock ~ 7:35am. I patted the other side of the bed lightly to check if peeta was there, no. All of a sudden I smelt the waft of sweet ostrich egg omelets flowing through my nose.

I instantly knew where peeta was. I grabbed a silk robe that Effie sent in her monthly gift packages to me, peeta and haymitch. I hated it but it was the nearest thing to me. I slid into my slippers and ran down the stairs. I saw peeta and smiled. Our faces both lit up and as I walked into the kitchen. He was plating up the food. Perfect circular omelets and strawberry's cut into love hearts. Valentine's Day special. Oh no. Valentine's Day. For god sake.

'Hey katniss, how was your sleep?'
I knew in my head I barely got any sleep but he didn't have to know that, right?
'It was perfect, how about you loverboy?'

We chatted as we ate, about bills and prescriptions and haymitch, nobody had seen haymitch recently. I assumed he was on a bender but even haymitch can't do a three week bender.

Me and peeta made an agreement that he would travel to district 11 to collect those stupid pills and I would go haymitch searching.

I walked up the stairs and headed into our bedroom. I grabbed a green button up and black pants. I walked over to the bathroom, combed my hair and pulled it into a braid and brushed my teeth. I pulled a navy rain coat over my shirt and walked back downstairs. Peeta had left my boots at the front door, freshly polished. I leaned against the entryway table and fastened up my boots. Brown leather with black laces and golden eyelets. I walked outside and shut the door.

I walked along the gravelled road of victors village. It was the only place in twelve that layed untouched since the war. Everything else was being remade and redecorated. Pretty colours and white trimmings bordered the hundreds of new businesses that lined the streets of the all new downtown twelve.

I was flabbergasted at the fact I had made it from my house to haymitch's without a hoard of cameras following me with there bright lights and strange textured microphones. Although I could locate peeta from a mile away. The angry piranha like paparazzi had found him. They were angry because we hadn't done an interview in 7 whole weeks, how scandalous!

As I reached haymitchs house and climbed up the slowly decaying steps I noticed a sign hanging on the door
'Katniss please go away, I'm at Effie's so you have no need to worry'
He was always one step ahead of me.
