The teacher took a deep breath and looked at the kids who were now enjoying their food. "What was that? Why were you bullying my friend?" he asked, totally exasperated by the exchange between the kids and Lev. Now, the half-Russian will think he's taken and a father of two devilish kids. Geezuz effin Christ on a crutch. And that gorgeous man. For some reason, Morisuke wanted to throw a punch at him for smiling that way at Lev. He saw how Lev looked towards their direction and he couldn't help himself in rolling his eyes at his former junior.
"Hmmm...? He's fun to tease. Obvoosly, he likes... hmm... no... liked... which one is the right word for... when it's done? When it's in the past?" Mori asked, mouth full of the cimanon bun honey. Wow. It's super yummy. Okay, another point goes to Mr. Lev.
"Liked." Morisuke provided as he sipped on his coffee and he couldn't help but give a huge sigh of satisfaction at how delicious it was. Oh... my... gods... even if Lev wasn't here, I would definitely come back just because of the coffee.
"Yeah," Kou wiped his mouth with a tissue and looked in Lev's general direction. His eyes followed every movement the cafe mister made. He also saw how Mr. Lev talked to the pretty onee-chan at the counter nicely. He's quite nice. Kou likes Mr. Lev. "He liked you. Coot. You're both coot."
Lev finished tidying the barista space. He rolled his neck and stretched, after all, he had been awake since 5 am to prepare the pastries and open the cafe. His fitted long sleeve shirt came up just a bit, which happens as he is so tall it is hard to find clothes as long as him. He fiddled and pulled it down on his way to settle up a customer.
Lev tried to keep busy, he didn't want any more thumbs down from the lovely demon children. He tidied, and talked with other customers, greeted and settled bills. All to keep himself from gravitating to Yaku's table.
Yaku-san is here. He is in my cafe. He looks to enjoy my coffee. He is so close to me, and yet I can't touch him. I can't say to him what I've practiced saying. 'Yaku-san, I'm not a kid anymore. I've done well for myself. I'm not afraid to tell you anymore, rather I regret never telling you. I've lost so much time with you, even if it isn't the answer I hope for... I've waited for your answer. Yaku-san, I want to be with you, please give me a chance.' I waited too long and now I'm too late. I wish you every happiness Yaku Morisuke.
Lev couldn't help himself, he kept staring at Yaku-san. Each time Lev's expression became more nostalgic. He smiled sweetly, but with the sadness in his eyes couldn't fool a preschooler, much less those two.
Morisuke's eyes caught the small flash of skin under the tight shirt and he had to groan inwardly. Shit. That's so damn sexy. He rolled his eyes once more and picked up the fork that came with his pastry. Maybe the pastry is not as good as it looked. Maybe it'll be his off switch in coming here. Maybe he would hate it enough to trump his love for the delicious coffee. Maybe–Fuck. It's delicious. It's so fucking delicious he had to press his forehead against the cold surface of the table and gave a quiet moan. Damn it all. Looks like he'll definitely come back here just to have a taste of all the drinks and food. Bonus that he gets to see Lev.
"Papa, you're drooling over Mr. Lev. Please, you're embarrassing us," Kou teased with a laugh as he popped the last piece of his donut into his mouth. He wanted another one so he slid out of his chair and brought his empty little plate to the counter and flashed his innocent smile. "Mr. Handsome Lev, I want another donut, please. Thank you." He tried to reach up for the counter but his short stature hindered him. Only a small part of the plate could be seen by any of the people behind the counter.
Lev chuckled inwardly at the child who was every bit as smart-mouthed as he was short, just like Yaku-san. "Ah, of course, Kou-chan. That makes me happy that you've enjoyed it so much to want another! Would you like strawberry flavor again, or would you like to try another flavor donut? It is also very kind of you to call me handsome, you are as well."
"Thank you, Mr. Handsome Lev. Papa always tells me the same." The boy smiled and kept his eyes on the cafe owner, loving how the man did his best. Perfect for their hardworking sensei. Of course, Kou is handsome. He's got those cute dimples that Yaku-Sensei loved. Plus he's cute too.
Morisuke realized that one of the kids was gone so he had to look up just in time to see Kou walk up to Lev with his tiny plate. "Oh, for the love of–Wait here, Mori-chan. I'll be back in a sec." He got up and ran to Kou's side. "Geez, Kou-chan, you could just tell me if you need something." He sighed and bent just a bit to ruffle Kou's soft hair. "You made me worry."
"I'm sorry, papa. I just wanted to order another food."
Lev bent over the display case to speak with Kou. This action backfired as he is now directly at eye level with Yaku-san. His body is full of betrayal today, the heat rose to his face so quickly he didn't have time to realize it. He knows his ears are pinking as he took the dessert plate from Kou's tiny hand and stood.
"Does Yaku-papa like the pastry I picked for him? If you don't, you are free to choose another."
Morisuke'a heart stammered as their eyes met but he raised a brow at Lev's words and shrugged. "Nah... It's delicious. Maybe I'll be a regular here if that's fine with you," he smiled a little, hoping against all hope that he looked normal even when his heart was drumming so fast and so hard that he thought the other customers could hear it. His heart had definitely betrayed him once again.
Kou bounced on the balls of his feet while waiting for his new donut. "Another flavor, please," he demanded. "Are you married, Mr. Lev?" he asked, curious whether sensei's friend is available for sensei.
The question made Morisuke gulp. Is he? Is Lev married? Do they still have a chance? Were the kids right when they said that Lev liked him before? If so, does he still like him now? Jesus. This is very stressful. Why did he have to come here? Why did he have to see Lev? Why did he face to face him? Kyyyyaaaaahhh!!! Stressful indeed. And his brain cells were just floating around being useless.
Lev was definitely all red now and felt he would begin to sweat. He nervously laughed, as he looked in the display case for the requested donut. These kids are relentless, he thought. "Haha, kids are cute. Um, no, Kou-chan, I'm not married." He raised his hand and wiggled his fingers to show no ring. "Would a chocolate cake donut do?"
"Anything is fine, Mr. Lev. Thank you. How about a girlfriend or a boyfriend?" Kou continued to ask while waiting for his next snack. Yaku-sensei, you better treat me to a cake next time.
No, I'm not married, the man I've loved for 10 years is taken. But if I can see him regularly, just seeing him, that will have to be enough. He enjoyed the treats that I made. I hoped one day I would make them, especially for you. Special because it is you, Yaku-san.
Lev looked to Yaku, and accidentally let his expression show longing. He is going to have words with his body for all the mutiny taking place today. He shyly smiled, "I make them myself, so I'm grateful you enjoyed it. I would be very happy if Yaku-san became a regular."
Morisuke's eyes twitched, not knowing whether to pat the boy on the head or to whoop him in the ass. "Gosh, I'm sorry for his questions. He's very very curious. I hope you don't mind." He put his hands into his pockets and watched the tall man move fluidly behind the counter. "Well... If all your pastries are as delicious as the first one then, maybe I'll let you fatten me up."
"You never grow fat, Sen... Papa..." Kou corrected himself immediately. "No matter how much you eat. You don't grow tall either. So what's the point?"
"Kou-chan, one more jab, and I'm telling your mom on you. Let's see what she does to you," Morisuke warned, the tips of his ears must be as red as tomatoes by now. This child needs some ass-whooping.
The boy only shrugged, rolled his eyes, and smirked at Lev. "So, Mr. Lev... girlfriend or boyfriend?"
