Chapter 33 - Jealousy Jealousy

Hancock's Pov before she leaves y/n at the hotel:

It's so difficult looking at y/n's eyes after that boneheaded mistake at the ferris wheel... I made myself look like an utter fool... I don't normally act like this to anyone, so why is this kid bringing out the worst in me!!?

I shook it off as I proceeded to enter the restaurant where my meeting would hold at.

After a few minutes of waiting, a woman dressed in shades entered the room. I didn't bother to look at her properly because I prefer to get right down to business.

"You're the first rookie to have ever make me wait
for approximately 3 minutes, especially when you need something from me," I stated plainly.

When it comes to business, the first and most crucial key is to never let your future client wait, otherwise they will refuse your offer and leave. Luckily, If i see potential in you, i may want to see what you're proposing.

"Rookie?" She says, as I finally moved my eyes on her. Her curled brows and her blue eyes are hidden by her pink hair. Hm.. Where have I seen this woman before?"

"Hi, my name is Reiju Vinsmoke," she stated as she extended her hand for a handshake.

Vinsmoke huh? Familiar...

I gradually reached my hand to shake hers and introduced myself.

"I heard you're experiencing an issue at your company?" I questioned in a distinct manner, but I already knew the answer.

"Indeed, our organization's growth had been... declining, and I'm afraid that unless I can find someone to collaborate with me, the entire company will be jeopardized. It's because my prior business partner abandoned me two years ago and took nearly all of the funds. So I was hoping-"

"Hold on a second. I assume you're asking if I can contribute in your business and pray to the gods that it will be a massive success? Am I correct?"

".. Yes." She responds with a distraught look on her face

"What's your offer?"

"Um well."

"I'll give you some time to consider it. You have my contact information, and when you call, I'll send you my initial investment, which will hopefully boost your market," I said as I stood up. "Please let me know how things proceed, and I hope you won't decide to abandon me as well."

I really don't like my job.. it's so stressful dealing with other buisness people.

"Hold on. May I ask you something personal?" She said, stopping me from leaving the restaurant.

I stared at her for a good a second and sighed. I sat back down.

"Please make it quick," I added

"That student of yours.. y/n.. may I speak with her?"

I furrowed my left eyebrow at her as I crossed my arms. "What business do you have with my student?"

Now that I looked carefully at her face, she really resembles that woman at y/n's institute. But, she doesn't need to know that I remember her.

"It's a matter of personal concern... but if you could do me a favor and-"

"Hold on now. Me? Give you an favor? Do you have a clear understanding of what you're asking of me? I accepted your buisness invite and negotiated with you about your company ordeals and now you're asking me if I can give you another favor?"
