Today was the day...today was the day you were moving back to Tulsa. God, you haven't been there in years. Last time you were there was in Highschool before your parents died. After they died you were sent to NY to live with your aunt.
You step outside of the small apartment building with boxes in your hands, carrying them to your little car. It was gonna be a long day. You finished loading your things and looked down at your watch. 11:32 a.m. Great, you won't get there until 5 a.m. tomorrow or later. But, good thing is that an old Highschool buddy is letting you stay with her.
Eva Collins. Best friend since, well, forever. When you called her the other day and told her you were being kicked out she didn't even think before saying you could stay with her. You guess what they say is true. Best friends always have your back!
You turn to look back at the old apartment, reliving the memories. It may have only been 4 short years, but it felt like you lived there your whole life. You smile at the building then open the door and start the car. It's going to be one hell of a night.

Finally, you're in Tulsa. You've been driving for hours, the drive felt almost endless. You thought you would never make it until you saw the neon sign for a diner. You start thinking about the last time you had eaten something. It was only a few hours ago but you felt like you were going to die of hunger. You stomach grumbles at the thought so you decide to pull over and go in.
You walk in to seeing a bunch of men staring at you and whistling. You try to ignore them, though. Well, that is until you heard a voice.
"Fellas, just let the pretty lady get her food."
The man's voice was gruff and stern. After he said that everything went silent for a good 3 minutes. You go sit at a booth in the corner and the waitress comes over to you."Hi! What would you like for me to get you, dear?" The young woman asks. You look at her. She's around 20, red hair and ice blue eyes. Freckles dotting almost every area of her face. You zone back in.
"Oh, yes, just some pancakes and a coffee please." You reply, sending her a gentle smile. She reaches out to shake your hand.
"I'm Meg, by the way." She leans down and whispers in your ear, "y'know, he doesn't really stand up for broads. When he does, it's very unusual."
You look over and examine the man, he was a few booths in front of you. He had dark hair, thick brows, deep brown eyss, and a leather jacket. He also looked like the man who would kill someone but also sit there and be all cute and innocent.
"I would stay away from him, though," Meg said patting you on the shoulder, "he's not good news."
"He looks harmless to me," you reply. You look back and him and notice that he's looking at you. You freeze and he turns away, talking to whoever he's sitting with.
"He may look it but he has a bad record with the fuzz."
"Ah well, don't matter to me!"
"Ok then, I'll go get your food," she says, looking at the man then back at you.You sit there looking out the window at the passing cars, not even realizing that the man had walked over and sat in-front of you. You only noticed when he introduced himself.
"I'm Dallas, Dallas Winston," he said, holding out a hand. You get startled but calm down when you notice it's him.
"Sorry, I was zoned out," you say and shake his hand, "Sarah, Sarah Matthews."
He stares at you for a moment with a curious look on your face before asking you something.
"Do you know a...Keith Matthews?" He says, still holding your hand.
"You mean Two-Bit? Oh yea, that's my baby cousin!" You say, looking at the table before looking at your hand that was still in his. You feel your face heat up and look down. He looks back to the booth he was originally seated at and whistles.
"Hey Two, c'mere!""What Dall— Sarah??" Your cousin says, "what're you doing here?"
"Damn, ok, missed you too. But your mom kicked me out so Eva is letting me move in with her." You say, looking at him then back at Dallas.
"Did you say Eva? Eva as in Eva Turner?" Dally asks, looking at you.
"Yep, best friend since forever!"
"What about me, am I not your best friend still?" Keith says, playfully shoving you. You playfully punch him in the arm.
"Shut it, Keith." You say, shaking your head then looking back at Dallas. He's still staring at you but now he looks like he's seen a ghost.
"You good, Dally?" Keith asks.
"You look like you've seen a ghost," you say, lightly laughing. He pulls his hand away from you.
"Fuck," he mutters, putting his head in his hands.
"Ooooh, yea," says your cousin after a moment, "you know Eva is a Soc now, right?"
"I'm sorry, she's a what?!" You say looking at Dally and Keith. "Fuck, I guess I'm not staying with her now. She should know I can't be around Socs like that since I'm a Greaser, I'm gonna get jumped."
Dally puts his hands on the table and leans back.
"Well, I guess you could stay with me. Two ain't even at his house anymore cause he's with the gang all the time." He suggests.
"I guess that's my only option, isn't it Winston?"
He rolls his eyes. "I mean, I'd take the offer unless you wanna sleep on the streets."
You shudder at the thought, "Fine, I'll stay with you."
Dally smirks. With that, you were both in your car going to his friend's house which he apparently stays at.He opens the door to the house and grabs your hand, taking you up the stairs. He stops and opens a door that you guess leads to his room. He drops your hand and you walk in. It wasn't the best looking place but it would work.
"I'll go get your things, just make yourself at home." He says, starting down the stairs.
"No, no. I've got it Dal, thank you though." You say, jogging down the stairs. He stops you by putting both arms on the wall beside your head.
"I said no, dolly. Now you go back up there and get comfortable." He says. You roll your eyes and duck under his arm, going out to the car to get your things. He sighs in defeat.
No matter what happens with you and Eva's relationship, at least you know some Greasers who've got your back.
