Sage was drowned in a brilliant golden shine, like star dust was raining overhead. Her pale skin basked in the ascendant brightness, which continued to ooze warmth. Rays curled around her body, as vines on a tree. It was a vortex of light, almost.

She wanted to shield her eyes.

Instead, Sage glanced up at the shimmering symbol above. A holographic cornucopia of gold shone. It was plentiful with riches, coins bursted from the mouth like it was vomiting luxury. She remember cabin 19, the one she'd been at when she got her vision. A cornucopia had been craved into the awning.

The most peculiar part about it was the familiar warmth Sage felt. Like before, when she was on the skywalk. Her entire framed was toasty in the most safe of ways. It spread from her face, to her fingertips, to her toes.

Sage supposed this was her claiming.

When she looked back down at her hands, she noticed her veins appearing gold for a second. Beneath her skin, she could see them alit with an unnatural glint. Something which worried Sage was the lack of worry she had.

In the moment, all her nerves dissolved into the comfortable cocoon. They were switched for clear headed curiosity. She found herself wondering what it all meant, but being content with not knowing.

This disappeared as the light began to dissolve. From the cornucopia, the sheen started to dwindle down like it was melting. It trailed down around Sage, until she could slowly start seeing the room once more. It slinked to her ankles, before it was gone completely. The only thing projecting beams of brightness was her figure.

There was a moment where her veins still seemed radiant. The others were slowly removing their hands from their eyes. Annabeth was the first to look back at Sage, with a slightly widened eyes. Chiron was next, who immediately rose his brows at her. Then Jason, and Rachel who seemed just as surprised.

Slowly, her veins stopped emitting light. They extinguished like candles, and she was left normal once more. All her fears came flooding back in, so rapidly it made her breath hitch.

But hey, her migraine was gone. She figured she had the blaring light show to thank. Even though sunspots plagued her vision abundantly. "So, was that...?" Sage trailed off, her gaze flicking between everyone.

"You were claimed." Annabeth nodded, blinking to adjust back to normal light. The blonde girl shivered slightly, making Sage realize just how cold she was now.

"By who?" Sage asked. Of course, she had her suspicions, but wanted to be sure before she said anything foolish.

She didn't think anything could distract her in the moment, however she was proven wrong quickly. Chiron rose from wheelchair, revealing a horses body as his. A man from the torso up, with the legs of a white stallion on the bottom. Sage squinted. Was she seeing things? Maybe the funky god light had damaged her perception.

The sound of clopping feet rattled across the wooden floors, and over to Sage. Chiron's... tail swished around hastily, nervously, even. He clapped Sage of the back softly, which still almost made her lose her footing. Her eyes remained on his now empty wheelchair.

How?

"You, my dear, have been claimed by Tyche," Chiron towered over her, though she wasn't threatened by his looming presence. His warm eyes made sure of this. "Goddess of fortune, luck, and fate." He drew out the word fortune, emphasizing it slowly. That's what the strange woman's voice had called her. The daughter of fortune.

Sage didn't know what was more surprising. The fact that the woman she knew as her mother, was not her blood. Or, the fact that she had been claimed of the goddess of luck. It was rather ironic. Sage half-felt like there was about to be some blaring ringing, and then a curtain would pull back to reveal a live studio audience. Like this was some strange prank, or joke on her behalf.
